Pick 30

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

What about this really tall kid I've heard of a bit on here. He's 208cm tall :D

Shae McNamara. Are ruckman's that hard to find? I am trying to understand your draft and free agents. Anyone have a link to a quick rundown on how it works?

In the NFL, worse teams pick first, best teams pick last. Free agents can go where ever they want.

The Draft is the Same,

We do not have Free Agency

An Interesting Prospect, Callum Bartlett as he is injured but people are saying he would be a Top 10 Pick if not Injured but could fall because of Injury.

We did use our Pick 14 on Jolly, Instead of in the Draft

Well Jolly was a near AA ruckman this year... I can see him being around for our next premiership which is what we need to look at if we are going to trade for players. Also the fact that he is a ruckman that can actually help us out alot in hitouts will be big!

But then again with Pick 14 I see there being a possibility that one of Luke Tapscott or Kane Lucas being available.

So will be interesting to see what we miss out on, and interesting to look at in the long term.

Jolly was definately a very good pickup, but just pick 14 I think will still be a very handy player ;)

Fair Call - 2007 We traded Pick 14 to Lions for Wood who then On-Traded it to the Dees for Travis Johnston, Dees Picked Jack Grimes with that Pick.

I have Wood and Grimes as a Tie at the Moment.

Tapscott won't get to Pick 14, I see it would be out of Lucas,Melksham and Stevens at Pick 14.

Won't go as high as many think. Be surprised if we consider him at 30.

Has a history of injuries and was injured this season.

Super explosive, but he will probably have slowed down a fair bit from the injuries...

Would rate Thomas over him. Much better user of the footy and can also win the in and under.

If Josh Thomas is still available at pick 30,we should take him.Very impressed with his clearance ability and his use of the ball is top class.
Reminds me of a young Shane Crawford in size and style of play.

A Player that has been Mentioned in the Comments in the Pies Draft Machine is Jarryd Cachia. I have watched his Vid and he Actually looks like a Good Mid Prospect.

Bio:

Hard at it inside midfielder who is constantly bringing teammates into the game. Top 10 in the TAC Cup for clearences and contested possessions in 2009. Awareness and decision making under pressure are tremendous. His 2.95 sec for 20m & level 13-9 shuttle was very good at Vic screening.

Luke Ball :thumbsu:

Just a question for anyone who reads this.

If we go with Ball at 30, who would you like to see at 62 + 78.

Or alternatively what kind of player?

For example the club has expressed an interest in acquiring another key position defender with Prestigiacomo nearing the end.

Personally I would be of the view that atleast one of those two picks would have to be a key position player.

At 62 if there is a player that slides I would go for them.

Otherwise the key position players I like at 62 include: Luke McDonald and Luke Thompson.

Temel, Daw and Casboult I consider more guys that will be available in the rookie draft and would be fairly good options there.

Read on a Phantom Draft, That we have set our Eyes on Sam Reid(Ben's Little Brother). Not sure if True but Would not Suprise me if Ball is not there at 30 he Could be well the Pick

Versatile rebounding defender who provides plenty of run from defensive fifty. Athleticism, vertical leap and speed are all strengths. Ranked equal second in kicking test at Draft Camp (73% efficiency). Had outstanding Draft Camp with 2.92secs for 20m (top 8%) and level 14.7 for the beep test showing his elite speed/endurance combination. From Wangaratta FC.

Love you mock draft Knight.
And your list annalysis stuff from footywire was right on.
Do you have any of your threads here?

Anyway if we get Ball what woudl your objection to Mitch Thorp be at 62? Then Robert Shirley at 78?

Meaning onballer, key position player and tagger.

Thorp I don't see as being compatable with the Collingwood profile. Yes he has talent a plenty but I due to other concerns about his personality I think we will look elsewhere.

As for Shirley I see a possibility that he may very well become our mature age draftee. Shirley announced that he wanted to go to a side that is a "premiership contendor" and I see all the other top sides except us having a tagger, so he is a fair chance at taking out our mature age draftee selection this year.

As for Ball at pick 30, I see him being a really nice fit into our young midfield if available. Don't see him being a great fit at too many other sides. Essendon don't have a flag in their immediate future, same with Melbourne. Brisbane are the threat in that they are going for a premiership now and that they are doing whatever possible to win that premiership now (for Brown before he passes his best).

Also the concern about getting 3 AFL listed players is salary cap issues will arise = Not good.... *ala Carlton* :D

Now Ball seems to be out of the picture it'll be really interesting to see what happens with pick 30.

I'm not so certain that we will pick up Thomas with pick 30 - or that it is such a sure thing anyway.

I'm really hoping we have a decent KPP slide to our pick. Being overly optimistic in this draft maybe. Panos or Griffiths would be nice and I can hope slide.

I'm not too sold on going for another inside mid with our first pick - i think we have plenty of young inside mids on our list already. But the fact that there is plenty of depth in the inside mids in this draft may mean we draft one purely on the best available philosophy.

My preference if we go a midfielder is quick with good footskills but they seem rare in this draft.

My mate plays with him at the Northern Knights and he said that Jarryd is a tough in and under footballer but he butchers the ball too much and i dunno if we need a butcherer in our team but we do need toughness in the middle of the ground

We already have Obie Wan for that exact role..... PASS!!!

Oh and BTW.... DAVE.... You overrate Wood too much. Jack Grimes is a far better player! Very hard to compare as one is a ruck and the other is a rebounding defender but if I had the benefit of hindsight, i'd be keeping #14 in a heartbeat!

luke ball.. luke ball.... LUKE BALL..... LUKE BLOODY BALL............... we will get luke ball.......... and i think his 500,000 price tag is wrong.. i think hes asking for something in the 650,000-750,000 range..

if not ball,i hope we get panos (hes greek :p) - but seriously, i would be happy with whatever snoop suggests as he know his shizzle...

Joe Dare geelong falcons

Is that a suggestion Opti or some inside mail?

Still think JT or Troy Taylor are the hot favourites, provided Luke Ball is gone of course.

Sorry mate, this ship is sinking by the day.

Think of it this way, just sit back and enjoy the developments of J-Mac, Beamsy and Rusty because they will fill the void.

Dare is massively rated, although as are thomas and taylor

lol.. yeah i get that feeling too but i also have a very strong feeling we are much closer to getting him than we think.. i dont know and am probably 99% wrong but i wont giving up till someone (pricks) calls out his name first...

as for j-macca, beamer and steelo ,i have no doubt the will become the core of an elite midfield unit, i just would have liked a guy like bally to be helping direct the guys in the midfield - he is a very good leader and could keep us in those games when we are struggling and are looking for that little bit of extra direction..
