If you were recruiting manager of your club and you could pick any 4 players in the last draft who would you choose and why?

My four for Essendon would be:

Deledio: No explanation needed
Tambling: Adds some much needed pace to the midfield
Roughhead: We desperatly need another key defender and he could fit the bill nicely
and the last one is tough...probably Franklin just ahead of Griffen as we need key forwards to replace Lucas and Lloyd in 5 years time and Franklin would have plenty of time to develop before then.

Out of the whole pool, out of who was available at your clubs picks, what?

If it's out of the whole draft pool, I'd take Ryan Griffen, Richie Tambling, Buddy Franklin and John Meesen.

That'd give me a good mix, Ryan Griffen would be the captain/midfield leader, Tambling would be the livewire midfielder/flanker that breaks the game open, Franklin would be the key forward target, and Meesen would be the mobile ruckman that can provide a marking target around the ground.

I like Deledio, but Griffen sounds more like my personally preferred type of player, the dependable, courageous type, rather than the sometimes sublime type. Tambling I picked more out of allure than anything, as he's the type that we haven't had at Collingwood for a while, although Egan sounds like he might be similar. Franklin is, IMO the best KPP in the draft, with Riewoldt-like mobility. Meesen may not be the best "ruckman" in the draft, but he'll be the best player that rucks regularly in the draft.

1. Brett Deledio - The best player in this draft and a superstar in the making. Clean, smooth mover, thumping kick and good in the clinches!

2. Richard Tambling - He is a jet this bloke. Love the look of him at Tiger training. Daniel Wells make #2?? Makes everyone look slow.

3. Ryan Griffen - Dependable, Leader type. Super Footballer. Will be a top ranked midfielder for years to come.

4. Jarryd Roughead - Best big man in the draft to go along with the best 3 players in the draft.

In the end Ive gone with the best available option. Those are the four best players from the draft, and to have two of them at Tigerland.......

OH HOW SWEET IT IS!![/COLOR]

you obviously haven't seen much of deledio. he was a certain top 4 pick. forget about team balances and all that, all 16 clubs would of taken him at number 1 if they had the priority pick.

Cameron Wood - already played senior football and has a lot of development left in his body. Three obvious ruck picks were wood, pattison and meeson.
Griffen - has already proven that he can play with the adults.
