I’m not saying that I don’t love Trav and appreciate everything that he’s done while here. My point was more that even someone with his level of dedication can been infected with “loser” while being here. More an indictment on the club than him.
Winning isn't everything. This is explicitly outlined in the creed.

When winning is everything - you get US postal, you get Essendon, you get the 90s and 00s USA female gymnastics team, you get Clarkson (allegedly).

Yeh, nah coz that's not how your post reads. But let's just leave it there

Trav was once clutch, in the early to mid noughties. Remember him regularly nailing captains type goals in Q3 and 4. Dunno what happened.
That would be early to mid teens. Trav was a a teenager in the early to mid naughties.

why then is only 1 10

00s
'The 2000s (pronounced "two-thousands"; shortened to the '00s and known as the aughts or noughties) was a decade that began on January 1, 2000, and ended on December 31, 2009.'

10s
'The 2010s (pronounced ''twenty-tens"; shortened to "the '10s", also known as "The Tens" or more rarely "The Teens") was the decade that began on January 1, 2010, and ended on December 31, 2019.'

shrug

The players stayed a few days longer

I would love to see the club get this guy on our books.
Even if it's only for the pre season he would make massive changes to our club

The club probably hate the fact that the players are doing this - it actually undermines their authority. And bringing this guy into the tent would only disrupt the cliquey low performance boys club they have going on. Zero chance.

Exactly why we didnt get Ben Perkins or someone else to work on our kicking when our conversion was poor, because it meant Carl Woods when he was our skills acquistion guy, and Hinkley and the other coaches had failed, and feel threatened and get exposed they arent good enough.

Anyway I prefer Austin to be working with a small group and plenty of one on one time concentrating on specific issues for a few different players. Plus he is in his home base and set up and has full control.

There is a reason why specialist doctors dont make house calls.

But in 2024 we have a new coach so we shouldn't have any problems bringing him in.

I am just so impressed with Boak and the other lads dedication. It would be so easy to sit on a beach and relax during the off season.
Boak needs to become a off field leader at Port when he calls it quits.
Put him through a physio degree - send him overseas for a year to Europe and America and world class facilities. Then bring him back in a High Performance Role working with Stuart Graham

Hopefully something in the fitness area where he can use all his learning and contacts

Yep I'd love for him to stay on even just to manage this optional post-season program and maybe fitness and development during the year.

MG is the big one for me. Could easily entertain big offers to head West, but is showing real dedication to commit and get better.

There is absolutely no reason that Travis couldn't phase into a strength and fitness role at the club. I don't think any player over the past 20 years has got more out of his body than him, and he's still going.

Specialised skills sessions, fitness camps, personalised programs... hell, even that mindfulness stuff he practices are all good bases to build on.
