Did you see what happened to Carlton after he was sacked? He’s been through hell and back in his personal life..and to see him still give his all in the AFL system shows great character and resilience.

Yeh but whats he done coaching wise apart from getting the chop .Opportunities have been there to coach seniors since he was sacked and he hasnt got a gig. Doesnt say much for his coaching abilities.

3 consecutive finals series with a very average list. Our list 2012-2015 was far superior to Carlton’s 09-12. But still he managed to get them to a semi in 2011. With that he has now been working under the best coach in the land, imo has all the experience and qualifications to be a great coach for any club.

How do you know that no club rates him Salim? Do you mean has a head coach? Or an assistant? Or just in general?

I always thought that the Blues looked alright under Ratten. Malthouse ruined that list and gutted the club. At least Ratten got them into finals.

Ratten is very highly rated by the best coach of the modern era (Clarko) after his time as an assistant after Carlton wrongly sacked him. Hawthorn were gutted when he was poached by St Kilda. Smart move by the saints because he’ll end up replacing Richo and do a very good job.

I thought Hawthorn told Ratten that they could not guarantee he would be asked to stay on at Hawthorn and so Ratten decided to look elsewhere.

Nope. Hawthorn let Ratten go because they wanted a change. The suggestion is they punted him to make him way for Mitchell.
