Reportedly one of the best kicks in the draft. Will probably start his career as a half forward and hopefully push into the middle later on.

he has one heck of a boot, and an accurate ones as well, good outside speed and what we needed to draft

KANE FARRELL

180cm / 72kg

Clubs: Bendigo / Vic Country

Positions: Back Flank, Outside Mid

Comparison: Jake Lloyd

Stats:

Kane played 3 matches at the National Championships, averaging 14 disposals a game playing across half back and on a wing. He has had a consistent year in the TAC Cup, averaging 17 disposals and over 5 inside 50s a game.

Gamestyle:

Kane is a small defender who can run through the midfield. Possessing one of the best kicks in this draft pool, Kane can be very dangerous when in form. He has good pace, loves to receive the ball in space and deliver a high quality ball inside 50 with his left foot. He has played numerous positions this year from rebounding defender to playing up forward but he tracks towards being a midfielder in time. The biggest knock on Kane is that he can try to do too much with the ball. His evasive work isn’t as good as what he thinks it is at this point in time, which can lead him into panic kicks or getting smothered.

Draft Range: 30 – Late

His pace, agility and deadly left foot will be of interest to clubs and they will work on his decision making and other deficiencies. He hasn’t been talked up much, but there is clear talent there. He will fall through to the third round and beyond and could be available with our group of picks. At our picks, he would provide good value with plenty of upside and is a player that should come under consideration. Collingwood, Fremantle, Hwathorn and Melbourne will also be interested in him.

Small defender, great kick, but gee... if there was one area we absolutely did not need to draft, this was it. Broadbent replacement?

Kick, Tick
Pace, Tick
Composure, Tick

We sure as hell needed to draft this type of player. Don't pigeon hole these guys into one position. If you actually did some research he has experience all over the ground. He is a Matt White type replacement.

Don’t get so salty mate, it’s an opinion. Sorry, but my take on him is a back half catch and kick type... he seems to lack spatial awareness and when he left the confines of the back half, just did not look sharp at all. Indecisive when everything was not all in front of him.

Happy to be proved wrong though... and hope he kills it for us!
