The AFLW draft was done during the Trade Period so what the Difference?
When does their season start dave, it could be the answers
Ps missed by that much. To slow.

AFLW starts Feb 2nd, AFL starts March 22nd. That would be one.

Draft done before exams would be two
They dont at this stage earn life changing incomes out of football that the men can, that may affect their decisions on future careers or studies would be three.

Unless he is worth pick 6, we don't want him. No need to draft someone just because his grandfather played 2nd fiddle to his brother as a player. The twists and turns in the speculation over our pick 6 are doing my head in. Please, no more Richards, Murphys or anyone else who does not seem a legitimate top 10 pick. No more 'In Hine we trust' or 'Hine Special' sentiments. Pick somebody bloody obvious and universally heralded by footy scribes, as well as devoid of any health issues or injury woes. Someone healthy, with some height, pace and kicking ability would be welcome as our first selection.
You mite have to wait till next year if you want all that in pick 6. That’s of course if we don’t give that away to.

Other posters have already covered this Dave, but it makes complete sense to me that there is such a gap between the trade period and the AFL Draft(s). It gives the media (and us fans) something to talk about and basically keeps football in the headlines for another month or so. Once the drafts are out of the way then there's nothing new for people to think about until the pre-season games start.

Better for who? Apart from bored/annoyed supporters?

The Teams. They would love to get Kids in at Start of Pre-Season not about 2-3 Weeks in

Once this is over I'm climbing into my freezer until NAB Cup begins. Will defrost for weekly training reports then climb back in.

Thank god this ends friday
The Rookie Draft (and Pre-Season Draft!) is on Monday, Pablo, so if you can just hang on until then all of this will be over and you'll be fine!!

I love draft time, love the long build-up and even though I'm really looking forward to Friday, do like it just the way it is!
