If by 'pretty good' you mean 'one of the best outside midfielders in the competition' then yes. And that's why this thread is a disgrace. Salopek is so far ahead of the rest of that group that there is absolutely no need for a poll. But not only did you create the poll, you voted for someone from your own club who is not even close to Salopek in ability or in performance in a failed attempt to pump him up.

As a number six pick? Don't think so, you'd want something better than Salopek. He did come from a dud draft though although Mackie and McIntosh are certainly better players IMO.

2002 draft was from the best, wasn't all that bad though:

Nah. Salopek is definitely better than Mackie. He's a consistently good player.

Well considering Mackie was in the AA squad last year and Salopek got dropped this week, I'd say it's anything but a clear cut Salopek answer.

I think Salopek is a better footballer, I'm just saying that Mackie is pretty good too.

Sal was dropped due to injury affected performances, not ability. His '08 shits all over anything Mackie's ever done.

Thorp has just never been able to get a good run at it. Injury after injury, but if there's one positive from it, he's had different inuries, so it's not a recurring thing like Coghlans knee.

Doesn't matter how injury free he stays, unless he gets a heart transplant, he sits at the bottom of that list. Very soft player.

Salopek easily from this list.

And yet you started this thread by asking who was the best Pick 6. Why would you not vote for SS if you believe he is the best out of the lot.

What does him being the obvious answer have to do with anything? He's the obvious answer because he's by far the best player. Your poll asks who is the best player, and the best player is clearly Salopek, so you should've voted for him, unless you actually think Dowler's better in which case you should probably watch a bit of footy.

Yes, but A) It's a lot easier for a defender to get in the AA squad as a defender than it is as a midfielder, B) Salopek was injured for most of the second half of the year and C) Any non-Victorian has to have at least three brilliant years before the AA selectors will even acknowledge their existence.

You don't think 14 rounds into his first season is a little early to call him the best of the lot? If you're trying to shoot him down, you've chosen... poorly.

Salopek has clearly delivered the most so far out of this lot. A pretty lousy lot, and an awful run of injuries across this group.

Of course WAY too early to call any of the more recent ones... hopefully they'll develop and maybe one day overtake Kepler Bradley (hahahaahah... even at the time everyone knew this guy was terrible... why didn't Essendon?).

Salopek is the obvious choice, but only because he has been in the system for longer and has runs in the board. I know it's an early call, but I think Yarran will be the best of the lot. Looks to have a heap of potential.

Salopek is the only one that has proved he belongs in the AFL. Sampi did show signs for a while but then had his well documented meltdown.
I do think myers will make it though and possibly yarran if he doesnt have the same issues as sampi
