What if he ups his asking price from what he's already on? Would you give him a pay rise to stay on the list knowing next year he'll ask to be traded again?

In reality there is likely to be nothing but rubbish in the PSD so Carlton probably would take him if he nominated.

First off you have a 2 year hold when you draft someone so he'd be under contract. Secondly he would have to be careful of pricing himself out of the market. How many clubs can afford to pay him very much? How do you think it would go down at Carlton if they paid him $250k after knocking back Campo, Lappin and Whitnal?

If we can get pick 23 and then use that on Courtney Dempsey I'll consider that to be break even with the potential to do come out on top into the future. What makes Richie think the grass will be greener over there? He needs to lose a stack of weight and find a new level of commitment. Once he and Dean Rioli start hitting the turtle meat I can see his league career really go down the toilet, a pity because I think the kid has real ability.
