Richmond recruiting manager Francis Jackson revealed the Tigers wanted to take Tasmanian Bart McCulloch with pick 70 but the Brisbane Lions snagged the ruckman at pick 69.

`` We got plotted by Brisbane who took a player we were going to take at pick 70,’’ Jackson said.

``That’s part of the caper.’’

It also explains why the Tigers passed on their last pick.

Just read that on the HS website too. Why would we have wanted another ruckman?

Putt / Graham / Simmonds / Pattison / Vickery - Thats enough if you ask me.

Looking at who passed the order will be:
1. Melbourne
2. Port
3. Essendon
4. Carlton
5. Brisbane
6. Richmond.

You can lock Port in to pick up Josh Carr as he told Freo he wanted to go back to Port but the clubs could not get a deal through during trade week.

That leaves three live picks in the PSD.

sensible move to invite a host of likely types down to compete for a remaining spot rather than make an impetuous decision on the scapings from the bottom of the barrel:thumbsu:
Peter Sassegum, is that you?

Simmonds is getting on...Putts not going to be a ruckman and Graham is a piece of crap (watch him in the VFL...can't take a mark!)!

Not just on this board, but on other forums I've read posters have been FURIOUS with the club for passing on pick 70. Why is this so? Are you that impatient that you can't wait two more weeks to find out who we'll eventually use with that pick 70? By passing, it gives us oppurtunity to test out different players and look at them 'in depth' by training with the club. It would be a much better shot than picking up someone with pick 70 who the club may not have spent a lot of time with.

I think some people think that the pick 70 just flies away. We've still got it ! We'll use it in two more weeks.......relax.

Pass arrived from belarus as was stated, but very very few people know that he has been under the tutelage of the one and only Andy Collins, he was a boarder at Andys house in bendigo and ha learnt all the inticacies from Andy, himself.......Pass will complement Andy when they both take the AFL by storm, can kick 60 meters with either foot and because of his soccer bakground....... he can make the ball move around fro the boundary line ala becks,

He will make buddys goals look very very ordinary.

Sounds like an exciting prospect. I put him in the centre for my 09 lineup, is that where everyone thinks he'll start? Hes supposed to have explosive pace.

Melbourne and Essendon took his two other brothers at pick 76 and 79 and word on the street is that they are better than the Selwoods.

Pass will be a good player. Apparently has very good handpassing skills.

Anyone got a photo or Youtube video of him?

I went on google images and managed to find him. :thumbsu:

It appears he has talents outside of the footy field.

"We passed on our last pick. Actually Brisbane took the player we were going to pick at 70 at 69, so they nutted us by one which can happen in this caper. We just felt that the draft ran out of a bit of depth there, so we'll sit back and get a few kids in see how they go before the pre-season draft."

So I guess we wanted Bart McCulloch but when Brisbane snaffled our man we didnt know where to go so we passed for the PSD.

Why not take him with 58 and nab Hislop with 70? I doubt anyone would've taken Hislop from 58-70.
