Collingwood picks are very interesting because noone can be sure on what combination of players they are targeting. Many believe they are targeting midfielders, however analyse of their list shows that they are lacking young KP players with Cloke the only one to have shown anything. For a large part I think there picks may reflect what they believe will be available later in the draft.
Pick 8 is going to be important from the Saints point of view. I imagine they will pick up one mid-fielder and a KPP. I imagine they will probably use Pick 8 to take whichever they consider the Saints want, leaving the other for 10.

More than likely they'll take the best mid and the best tall (KPD). A mid at 8 will be out of Selwood, Proud, Collard, Armitage and Hislop
As for a tall at 10, might look at MacKenzie. Maybe Riewoldt, but I suspect that he will go a bit further down the order. It wouldn't surprise at all to see Collingwood pull a surprise at take a Tippett at 10 to help improve their ruck stocks.

I'd imagine the Saints would want a midfielder, so using your theory ae yu hinting Collingwood may pick a mid with 8 and hope their targeted tall slips through to 10?

I'm starting to think this might be the case, given that we've drastically reduced our backup ruck stocks - It's either this or we've got our eye on a mature ruckman from another league.
Tippett is 96kgs already, and could possibly get up around 100kgs by the start of next season, so in a worst case scenario that we lose our first few rucks, he could be a bit of insurance as soon as next year.
Theres no reason why we wont do both - a Tippett type plus a mature ruckman. After all we've lost Hall Fanning and C Cloke, as well as J Cloke who has played ruck before, and with Walker still at the club but on death row.
We'll definitely draft two rucks imo.
It would not surprise if we picked a ruck early.

Why even mention Hall? He wouldn't have been played if we had 26 other players out injured.
His delisting is hardly relevant to our needs, is it?

Because he was on the list as a ruckman. Just because somebody is useless doesnt mean they dont have to be replaced. If he was any good we wouldnt be in this dilemma in the first place and we'd be able to confidently chase "the best available". Now we have to compromise our position in the draft to patch weaknesses in the ruck.

Collingwood seriously need to address the midfield more so then talls. We cant deviate from this goal. Depth of runners / midfielders of quality are winning premierships these days.
Proud / Selwood / Armitage / Jetta / Houli are hopefully around for the taking come picks 8 and 10.
Our ruck depth is rightly draing concern given Fanning and Cam have been delisted. We should look at this next with pick 28. Pick 44 & 63 should be KPP.

Will certainly be interesting draft day who Collingwood pull the trigger on. Two top ten picks in the "super-draft", which means they really should get some very very good players.
Whilst I can't find the source, Judkins actually said that he was drafted as a CHB.
Whilst he was serviceable in the seconds seconds in that position, he was never played there in the firsts, instead playing full forward and ruck (poorly).
