Height isnt everything. Just because Maxwell is 190cm, the same height as Mal Micheal doesnt mean Maxwell could play key defence.

Take guys like Kep Bradley and Brent Staker, both 197cm or over but cant hold down KP because its just not their style.

To me, guys like Toovey, Maxwell, Cox and O'Brien (havent seen much of Anthony so cant comment) they are all 3rd talls/ flankers in style more than anything else. Thats why they wont be key backman. Not because of their height.

Yes but your height argument works both ways and the fact is 190/1 cm is easily tall enough to play key defence, providing you are good enough. It is not like you are fighting through adversity if you are "only" 190cm.

Cox could become a key defender, he could be anything, he is a really strange player. Tall and lanky yet strong and moves smoothly. He would be an ideal key defender but I'm not sure if he could play there.

Anthony is a definate key defender IMO and can also get his fair share of the ball. He is in the mould of the modern full back/chb.

Maxwell has the potential to play CHB, when he has played there, even in short periods against the likes of Pavlich and Reiwoldt he has done alright. It may have been a nab cup game but Maxwell played on Riewoldt the full game and he did very well and won the battle, he even won most of the 1 on 1 battles and manhandled Roo a few times. The only problem is he would be monstered by some players and he gets burned on the long lead by some players.

Toovey probably is too small at 188 to be a key defender and also like you said it's not suited to him. He is a throw him self at the contest player and a player who likes to rebound. He is probably a slightly small J.Cloke except a lot quicker and probably a lot less loose. He has played full back in the VFL on the likes of Podsiadly and even come out on top of those types of big key forwards, however this was out of necessity due to Walker being injured, Lawry in the forward line and injured and J.Cloke's sporadic absences.

O'Brien is a small defender who can cover the taller players if need be.

Not sure OBrien is that small - big boy who is going to get bigger.

Yeah - starting to think if we go tall at 10 then Brown or Tippett is the one I would want (prepared to gamble tippett would be there at 28)

Boak - plenty of X factor but I think a few would be in front.

What i do know is Hine is a gun and whatever he does I will be happy with (i think!)
