Yes kicking action/technique does look a bit of a worry.
I’ll put it down to his coordination skills still catching up with his growth over the last couple of years. It’s something that can be fixed though at which point you should have a real bargain on your hands.

The other benefit is attitude. He and a few other Academy boys took it on themselves to move interstate to give them the best chance of getting drafted and stayed in Adelaide despite the Covid issues. Shows a level of commitment that should negate any “go home” factor.

On my limited information and viewing I wouldn't have said kicking needs work.

Good mature body, courage and intercept marking, tackles well and good disposal but at 189cm not really the tall defender we seemed to be in the market for - although if he has grown to 192 as per CFC site he is getting closer.

Like the player but not sure whether he fits our needs which seem to me to be another genuine tall. Still that may be what we have in mind for the SPP or midseason given we passed on our second pick in the Rookie Draft. We have had Oscar McDonald and Callum Moore down at training and presumably will have them train on over summer. Both are the type we lack but not sure either is going to be any more than cover for injuries. Prefer Oscar to Callum but Callum I suppose is at least a known quantity albeit he really stank it up in the 2 AFL outings we gave him. Oscar is more AFL quality and only 6 months older, bigger and more a specialist defender so more suited to our needs I suspect.

Note Henry Walsh didn't get picked up.
Happy with Parks as we needed a developing KPD (if he keeps growing). Like the marking reach:whitecheck:

Hope Henry Walsh comes down to CFC and trains hard over summer. If he has the professionalism of his brother may still be added later... and I still think we need some ruck depth.

we've been getting a taste of what constitutes a 'David Teague' footballer - this selection makes perfect sense

Yep, sorry I don’t mean to overstate his kicking ‘issues’. It’s not disastrous by any means, just not one of his strengths as he can miss targets a little too often but, as I say, that can be improved.

Too many armchair experts having a cry over players we didn’t pick because they rated him.
I’m sure Carlton should sack credited list managers and recruiters for a bloke sitting behind a computer Throwing darts at the phantom draft

* yes, I expect nothing less campaignery! I put at least 5 minutes of you tube into every player I critique!

So this trade/draft period we have got on board Williams/Saad/Fogarty/Durdin/Carroll/Parks and have all picks in 2021 draft bar round 3. Not bad, not bad at all.

Great effort would say.

DraftCentral said 189cm but Carlton article says now 192cm, so obviously still growing.

Now to watch, listen and learn about him. Good on him for taking his career into his own hands, moving to SA, and making it work.

that’s a really good point. 19 and packed up and moved interstate to back in his dream.

Hungry footballers are good.

Seems that a lot of other highly qualified and competent list managers passed over these boys too.... Who's right?

The tash looks a bit anaemic and he’s a righty but he’s only 19.

They have him at 192 on the Carlton page, so maybe he's grown a bit since in the Swans academy.

Good option for a backup third tall.
If the Carlton stats are correct he is same height/weight as Jono marsh who was apparently training with us.

Not just any draft next year, a very strong draft next with strong hands
