no i was thinking it was like 4 games and the hawks and tigers might not be able 2 get priority picks depending if they won more than 4 games, so we would have had pick 4 or 5 istead of 6 or 7

From reports he's exactly what we need.

Still, to secure pick 7, we got to lose to the Filth, so I'm not for it.

Besides, pick 7 is jinxed.

I agree, Pick 7 is jinxed, but the way Pavlich has been playing over the last half of the year he's not looking like that big a loss. Although compared to Danny boy a loss none the less

well considering its been such a shyteful season, and we were lookming like getting a higher pick anyway like pick 9, pick 7 makes it that little bit better
i dont care if we lose to carlton, they wont make the finals anyway

I have seen Collingwood fans on BigFooty talking glowingly about the prospect of a priority pick a couple of months ago as though the Pies would deliberately lose to get them, then when they went on a winning streak, finals were mentioned again, then they past Carlton on the ladder and celebrated the fact, then when they get past again, the better pick option comes up again. No doubt some here will be celebrating a win over the enemy if it should transpire this weekend and the pick won't be the issue.

Forgive me for being more than a little confused over what it is some of you folk want.

Over the past two seasons, it was more than made clear by Carlton supporters to us that there is no difference between finishing 2nd and finishing 16th, so we're just listening to you idiots!

We drafted Roach? I thought he came with a 2-for-1 deal.

Ah so you do want to be like us? I knew it! :p

You would have to think Carlton have the form at the moment to beat Collingwood on Friday. Added to this that they most likely will want it more, it should be 10 wins for the blues for the season.

P.S. - There is not a whole lot of difference between draft pick 7 and 9. You could still get the same player at pick 9 as you would have got at pick 7. It all depends on what the other clubs ahead of you want.
Example - Carlton got Nick Stevens at pick #2 in the pre-season draft last year, despite him being clearly the better player, the bulldogs picked up Rawlings at #1 because he was the Tall marking forward they thought they needed.

I am sure you all knew this anyway being such fine intelligent Collingwood supporters but I just couldn't resist the urge to rub it in about Nick Stevens again.

No, we traded Clinton King and pick 3 to Richmond, in return for Steve McKee and pick 7. Pick 7 used to draft Roach.

God it hurt to type that :(

Oh well... Collingwood got rooted, but....

Richmond got rooted just as much. Steve McKee helped Collingwood to a Grand Final in 2002, as a standout as an improver in the competition, wheras Aaron Fiora has yet to make an impact to Richmond or AFL Fans at all.

And when Matthew Pavlich is next in line, excluding his 2004 season, has been a big player.
