After watching some you tube I wish to change my preference from Flanders to Stephens

Was that an offer? I must have missed it.For those wanting to trade #9 out for a future first, forget it. We would have just taken Gold Coast's offer of 2020 #11 if we wanted to do that. We may trade down slightly, but I cannot see us trading out of the first round.
I'm hugely bullish on Stocker. Has good acceleration within a clearance coupled with good agility, but he plays heavy. Reminds me of a more agile Daniel Kerr, but with better skills by foot.

Glad your not our list manager9 + 2020 1st for GC 2020 1st
I have absolutely no inside information or connections with the club.
As an external observer, it seemed as though our interest in Gray and Butler faded as it became clearer that Papley, Martin and Betts were going to nominate us. The addition of either Gray or Butler would have seen them spend more time at VFL than AFL had all three trades gone through.
Now that Papley has fallen through, there is a genuine opportunity for a small forward in our team. Port have a few of his type, so Gray may end up falling down the pecking order. Could see a Jack Newnes type situation where he decides to pursue opportunities elsewhere despite having a contract in front of him.
As for obtaining a second rounder in this year's draft, there are three clear opportunities that could present without trading down the order:
1. Hawthorn's pick 30 (629 points): If a bid for Finn Maginness falls after their first rounder between picks 12-30, Hawthorn may wish to trade pick 30 for a couple of thirds to help cover a bid of 1000+ points. (picks 43 + 57 + converted future 3rd to 2019 pick) will give Hawthorn a favourable trade and surplus of points to match bids.
2. Port's pick 29 (653 points): Same situation as Hawthorn but with father-son prospect Jackson Mead.
3. Fremantle's pick 22 (845 points): If a bid for NGA prospect Liam Henry falls between 11 to 22, this pick will be consumed to match the bid. An option here is to trade our future second + 2 x 3rd round selections for Frementle's pick 22. This gives Fremantle an opportunity to match the bid with back end picks equating to a similar value, but also transfer their second rounder into a 2020 2nd (effectively gives Freo one additional second round selection).
The advantage for us is that we move our second rounder a year forward and get another year into a player, but also gives us the potential to grab a slider we view as a potential top 12-15 pick.
If we take another player such as Sam Gray, we'll probably only end up taking 3-4 teenagers max. Picks 9 and another top 30 selection would be a good start. Then just take a couple right at the back end of the draft.
I say that virtually 100% of time to myself when I browse any list management type threads....lolGlad your not our list manager
I’ll be surprised if we keep the pick. SOS is ‘draft points’ obsessed (which I mostly dont mind). He’s also in love with trading. Constantly looking for a 2 percent gain. And I’m pretty convinced the peace pipe will be smoked between Gc and Carlton and a pick swap will let them save face while delivering Martin to us for nothing. Clearly GC don’t want 15 and 20. By their own admission they have a bunch of picks now.No. I don't have anyone on ignore.
Sorry I missed your viewpoint. What else do you see?
I'm not as interested in the numbers as for the opportunities.
If we don't have a clear target with the #9, why wouldn't we chance at two picks under 20 if we feel there may be something worthwhile there?
We've already moved on plenty and need to restore some balance into the list and FFS, I don't want that to be via DFA's, so maybe...maybe...we may get not just one but two pieces of the pie here.
I'd rather we were trading up than down.Glad your not our list manager
Don't need points. They get academy kids for nothing nowDon't they have an academy kid Budarick?
Currently they only have 78 after 20 so could use some late points.
Yep Williams will be a steal for whoever gets him, as you say his year has been derailed but his form from last year had him spoken about as pick1 this year, should definitely be the number 1 rated forward in this draft, Taylor has huge upside with development as that hybrid mid size forward ala Stephenson, Weightman pretty much speaks for himself, great second and third efforts, explosive and will probably be able to push up the ground, all worthy choices.Going to throw my 2bobs worth in on the pick9 selection, like many others had followed the upcoming draft players very closelymyself the past well let's say 12/15 years without a beat, and. with the consensus that we were going to use our picks this year and possibly next years for trade targets no doubt had an influence on not getting as heavily involved in this years draftees as previously.
I still watched the championships and ive kept an eye on TAC cup and interstate results but have seen far less footage than i have normally done this year ,imo this is a fairly average draft with few standouts then a long list of players with good strengths but just as much with questionable weaknesses.
Personally if the chance to trade with GCS for #15(16) & #20(21) for #9(10) & #43 (44) I'm taking that in a heartbeat for i believe there are 2 players particularly that may seem a little bit high/reach in the eyes of many particularly for the years they have had, no doubt they had inconsistent years for different reasons and with some areas they need to work on but on what I've seen of Dylan Williams and Elijah Taylor could easily turn out top5 of this draft class.
Not only are they what we need but more importantly they possess skills speed and that touch of Xfactor we are crying out for, also like the looks of Cody Weihtman who also has some very good skills, speed and poise as well.
Kemp could have been up in the top handful, I'd be very weary in drafting the kid coming off an ACL...
#16 #21 #57?
*Dylan Williams
*Elijah Taylor
*Cody Weightman
Yes, it was.Was that an offer? I must have missed it.

Hmm. I can't find anything in the #meeja regarding a swap involving GCS' future first. Do you have a link Stamos?Yes, it was.
They currently have the picks though. In the future that might change after a review, but as of now they have #11 in 2020How can this be though?
How would GC be allowed to sell off something that's yet to be reviewed by the AFL?
Someone has this wrong.
EDIT: This is what I read -
The AFL Commission on Monday approved an extraordinarily healthy package for the Suns, who put forward their case for special assistance during a meeting last month. The league, however, stressed the package would be reviewed annually and that the Commission had the right to edit or remove future picks and/or academy access.
Can’t remember where I saw it, think it was a quote from Cameron.Hmm. I can't find anything in the #meeja regarding a swap involving GCS' future first. Do you have a link Stamos?
Shaun burgoyne did one and then played in 4 flags. There still hasn’t been a name of a player... Selwood wasn’t a ACL. Players doing knees rarely come back the same. Are very likely to do them again. GODDARD about the only player I can think of doing one and still turned out a gun. His was later in his career though.
They currently have the picks though. In the future that might change after a review, but as of now they have #11 in 2020
Well, they’ve tried at least onceMakes no practical sense at all to me.
If it was me holding that pick, I'd then be selling it off ASAP.
He's bigger then he should be. Over 100kg at 192cm.Why isn't Will Gould considered a top ten pick? Is it because he was a man child playing against boys? I watched his highlights and havent seen many better in this draft pool. I would not be unhappy to take him at pick 9. Talk about big bodied utility.
Edit. Kemp or Stephens first if they are on the board. Gould next. Seriously chuck this lad across half back for his first few years then get him in the midfield. In four years time every club will be admonishing the fact they didn't take him
That's too simplistic. Oliver was fat. Get him in an elite program with Andrew Russel and I can guarantee you by round 1 next year he wont be fatHe's fat
From what I can see from a quick squizz on the relevent BF boards, the talk of our pick 9 for GCS' 2020 pick 11 involved a trade for Martin. I didn't see any that revolve around just swapping picks. Can’t remember where I saw it, think it was a quote from Cameron.
