So the variable picks before us from Balmer’s write up seem to be GWS at 4, Adelaide at 7 and Freo’s Second pick (9).

Balmer has us taking Serong and KM says Weightman.

I just cannot see it.

GC Rowell
GC Anderson
Mel Jackson
GWS Ash (Young)
GWS Green (match Syd)
Syd Flanders
Adel McAsey (D Stephens)
Freo Robertson
Freo Young (D Stephens)
Us ...

With Kemp and D Stephens on the board, I think first we bid for Henry, and surely we rate D Stephens or Kemp (or Young or Ash if they slide) ahead of Serong and Weightman.

My prediction it looks a very even draft sos will trade 9 with Geelong, Port or Gold Coast for 2 picks and target a combination of De koning, Cooper stephens, Sharp or Tayor

No thanks.

Serong will be bound by blue unless someone takes him before us it seems. Disagree with the knocks on him. He's tough, outstanding in close extracting clearances, can play forward and has great hands over head.

Why do you think this?
Both Balmer and Twomey rate Serong at 4.
I think Serong won’t make it as a midfielder at the next level due to size and lack of pace. Kicking is average.

Think D Stephens has the endurance and is a good kick. Has already performed well at SANFL level.

Kemp the big body, has zip and can go forward too.

Young a possibility at our Pick too.

This doesn’t explain why you think it’s a surety that the club will rate those players higher than Serong. And whether he becomes a mid or not isn’t really relevant. They may rate those players higher, but a surety?

He'll make it. There are plenty of smaller midfielders that are elite. Lachie Neale and Dion Prestia come to mind.

Russell will trim him down a bit and he'll regain some zip.

Feel a lot more comfortable picking Serong than say Pickett. Think Serong's output at AFL level will be a lot more predictable.

Who has trained at the club over recent times?
Serong & Kemp, anyone else?
Sure that LOB got the nod from our previous training interaction with him, which had showcased his wares in an AFL environment.

We had Serong, Kemp, Rowell and Potter as part of this draft training at the club.

Bailey Smith and Jye Caldwell the year prior.
