I like Stephens. Alot. interested though, is he too similar to Lochie O’Brien? Torn if we should take a punt on a player like Pickett or Weightman.

It’s frustrating that this keeps coming up. It’s been covered many times.

However

He’s a left footer. He’s a great runner. He can play wing. And they are the only similarities to LOB.

Stephens will make his name playing smack bang in the middle. Very much in the Murph type ‘first receiver’ role. In that way he’s nothing like LOb.

reminds me of the young Scott Camporeale .... Saw the West Coast game '95 round 18 and as a first year stood toe to toe with Peter Matera.> hoping he provides something similar

The draft seems to be a real lottery this year with no real concensus top 10 or even close

Yeah, so I'm very happy with how he played. The below is what he showed and what I've seen in other games.

- He covers the ground so bloody well. Glides.

- Could be a future oxygen brother.

- Neat and classy by foot. Can use his right well.

- Has great game sense and smarts.

- Stands in the hole and can lay a tackle.

- Keeps his feet and has great balance.

Interesting he doesn’t see a bid for Green until 10 and Kemp and Robertson both on the board at 15/16. Twomey either knows something we all don’t or is way off the mark here. Probably proves how even this crop is.

If that is the case on the night I suspect we’d do the deal with Port for 12.

Or throw next year's first at 15/16 after using 9

If Stephens does in fact fall to our selection, I wouldn't be against us drafting his Norwood teammate Taheny with #43 as well.

A great combo that would start to plug some of the holes in our list.

I reckon there will be plenty of interest in Taheny, and we may have to trade down, but it’d be worth it.

Taheny is a favorite, has finesse and can impact the scoreboard heavily.
Needs to be nurtured and mentored, can be disinterested and not very consistent, but if a club has the foresight and patience they'll have a ripper on their hands.
