I’ve got nothing to back it up but I feel as though we will pick Cooper Stephens if we trade down. If we traded with GC for 15 & 20 we would need to use 15 on him, it sounds like Richmond are keen.Dylan or Cooper?

What did targeting Cogs have to do with missing out on Wines?
I would have thought the Papley hunt was the key factor in that as we didn't have the currency for both?
Crows? Can guarantee that Stephens will not make it to Carlton. Top 6 lock.
Young is a chance. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the response. It was about getting a 'mid' and Cogs was that mid, until the AFL chipped in! Wines was getable but we will never know now.
Once we lost the Cog deal we stopped looking for a mid. Probably a personal decision, Wines or Paps..!

Probably Ash, Young or FlandersSo if we didn’t swap picks with crows last year to get stocker we would have pick 3-4 in this draft. I know there were other benefits for doing that swap but as a what if exercise...which player would we have likely picked if we did not do the swap last year?
Why would any club offer those 2 picks for pick 9. There doesn’t appear to be anything special available at pick 9? Serong etc look ok but I doubt clubs will offer 2 slightly lower picks for 1 slightly higher pick. Maybe if we had a top 5 pick to offer.

Let’s hope we don’t waste 9 this time around like we did with Russell, and I agree fumblers are a big no no more so than almost anything which is a big reason I don’t like Cam Wild as our NGA fumbles McFumbles is Wild.Yep. I think he’s terrific. Not perfect. Would like him ever so slightly cleaner. But he’s no Jordan Russell. Which reminds me. I wrote him off after one VFL game. I got slaughtered on here for it.
Fumblers have a terrible time of it. It also seems to be a skill that really doesn’t improve a lot. Even harder to improve than kkciking. Or pace. Although I do like the saying “training can make you quickER, but it can’t make you QUICK”.
And now I’m rambling.
Sounds like Serong thinks he's going to Fremantle.
Looks like it's either Stephens or a trade down for us.
From Pie4Life's thread on the Draft Board:
Has anyone spent time looking at Thomson Dow? Do like the romance of drafting brothers...
TheRedPill if thats the case then looks like McAsey slips and the trade offers come
Can’t see Freo taking Serong over Stephens as they need outside speed and they have stated they don’t want an inside mid and they won’t take Serong based on his forward work, just doesn’t make sense imo.
For all the draft experts out there ...
Now that we have a better understanding of this draft and where some of the players will go, how would we rate Stoker if he was in this draft? From everything I have read (mostly from here) I see that there are a few tiers in regards to the talent level of the players in this draft. Is Stoker in that same tier as Stephens/Serong or more the later round 1 like Weightman/Pickett etc.
Also it’s looking as though if we had never done the trade with Adelaide we would be looking at picking up a Young/Ash/McAsey.
So one of Young/Ash/McAsey vs Stocker and Stephens/Serong. How does that look now?
Edit: Sorry I just noticed a similar question above.
That seems fairI can almost guarantee you they will if McAsey is still available, also GC have already offered 15 & 20 for 9.
So....in a shallow pool....dive into the shallow end??Some on here are getting caught up in 'draft' fever...
It's shallow.
Trade down and get something for next year...
Letsssssss gooooooooooooIf there hasn't been a bid for Green by pick 4, why wouldn't GWS trade down their pick to say Cats in order to
