If you had an open draft on any player on any other teams list to add to your teams list, who would be the first player you would pick.

Personally I would be torn between a matchwinner type like a Matty Lloyd, or a hard in and under player like Brett Ratten or Paul Kelly. I think I would opt for Ratten because of the work he does off the ball, and well as how much he gets of it.

Collingwood is in desperate need of a number of things...

Maybe a ruckman (Fraser is still developing).
That'd be Matty Allan or Steven King

Maybe a Marking Forward
Kouta would be leading there, then maybe even Holland (given his younger age compared with Carey)

We prolly have enough midfielders for now, but geez, I wouldn't mind someone with Scotty West's determination, attack on the ball, work ethic and brilliance in the side.

So, either West, Kouta, Holland, Allan or King for Collingwood.

For the Crows

Lloyd, Lucas, Meccuri, Johnson (either one), Fletcher, Whitnall, Hamill, Ratten, Camporeale, Kouta, Holland (either one) Ottens, Gaspar, Voss, Bradshaw, McDonald, Bell, Stevens, Harvey, Barrie Robran, Barrassi, Dyer, Colman, Cazaly, Jesus, God, Mohamad etc.

What we need.
Key forward (they are a dime a dozen)
Key defender
wingmen

A bit of structure going forward would be nice.

Dean Kemp ten years younger or another 20 year old Carey (pity they don't grow on trees).

Seriously, Ben Cousins, Buckley or Hird if his foot is ok (with Carey for three more flags), Brad Johnson, Kouta, Luke Power and that's about all.

at essendon we need an attacking onballer
ben cousins, andrew mcloud or michael voss should do the job.
brad ottens would be my pick as a ruckman, he will develop into a champ and probably become the best big man in the league in two to three years time.

For the Kangas:

Michael Voss (pace through the midfield)

David Wirrpunda (team him and Byron Pickett together across half back - scarey!!)

Dustin Fletcher (can play back and forward)

We would like Michael Voss (and Brett too if they come as a 'peckage') and also Daniel Bradshaw

Failing that I think the club would be prepared to give Sav Rocca a go - but he needs to improve his fitness, require less money and put in a BIG pre-season.

Same for Jason Heatley too - we could MAKE him useful, with his uncanny accuracy in front of goal, he would go well on the small SCG but again it is up to him to want to turn his carreer around.

And one more thing - come back Adam Heuskas - we were wrong to let you go in the first place.

Definetely Walshy about Brad Ottens.
I reckon this guy is going to develop into a great player. Him and Steven King are going to have battles that will be compared to Farmer and Nicholls over the next decade.
At players of Gardiner, Goodes and Fraser there are going to be some great ruckman over the next decade and Ottens and King will be the cream of the crop.
I would suggest that either Ottens or King could challenge Graham Farmers/John Nicholls (take your pick) status as the greatest ruckman ever.

For the tigers:
Ratten (we don't really need another one but he'll be great), Kelly (he is handy anywhere on the field),Chris Grant (sure he is a bit old but he is a great goalkicker), Cousins (a future star) Silvagni (another star backman won't hurt)Jason Johnson (who wouldn't want him?)and Brad Johnson for good luck.

Now you'll be in strife.....

Why, if you could take absolutely anyone, would you want Barry Hall, Heatley or Bradshaw?
If you want a gun full forward at least go for Lloyd, Whitnall etc.
The 3 you mentioned aren't worth a pinch of salt between them...

Bloodstained Angel: Didn't Heuskes announce his retirement today?

And please, please... you can have Sav...

We'll give him to you for a bucket of chips.

I had a rethink and still think Kouta would do us nicely. But i think we could certainly do with some midfielders, with Kemp and Matera ageing we will only really have one quality onballer in Cousins. So Peter Bell, Harvey or Crawford wouldnt go astray.

I would like to see Saverio Rocca come to Adelaide, if he is physically fit and still interested in football. He is exactly the kind of player who could become completely rejuvenated with a new club and under a different system. Either Rocca, or buy Modra back off Fremantle.

Our ineffective forward line was painful to watch on Saturday.

At the Hawks, if Hird was fit, take him first by a street. To bad he is now looking in stife again. Voss or Riccuito would be handy. Buckley but only if he kept his mouth shut. Haselby,Campo or Black (either Simon or Heath) from the younger blokes.

Our other need is the Ruck, toss up between Ottens Gardiner Darcy and Allan. Ottens is the purest ruck the rest are all great followers (though Darcy is a pretty good palmer I guess from learning from Wynd). At a push Allan as we have a kid called Loats who will be a player once he puts some weight on.

Cant take Kouta, he would pine for Ang to much and not be able to play without him. Look out Woods this could happen now with Pebbles not having Sav around next year too!

Daniel,

You think your forward line's ineffective now.

Wait tillyou have Sav dropping simple chest marks, running around with the Turning circle of the Titanic and the kicking accuracy of James Manson on his opposite foot.

Matt

I think Adelaide could do with a key forward. Someone who leads strongly, can take a mark or provide a contest and is capable of kicking goals even when he is the main focus of the defense. I'm getting this nagging feeling that we used to have someone like that who actually won the coleman medal in our most successful home and away season when our attack actually looked potent. but a former coach in all his wisdom deemed him unable to contribute to the team. I wish we had more of those type of non-contributors.

What about Nathan Thompson from the Hawks as a key forward. I think he has a lot of potential when fully fit.

Paul Kelly without a doubt!

The Swans with him are a completely different side, if Sydney had Kelly all year no doubt they would have finished top 4. Paul Kelly is a champion!

For the dogs:
With our defence dependant on your "typical battler"- Croft, and Hunter still to prove himself, Hay from the Hawks would be great. In the top three backmen in the comp this year, and still young.

And even considering we have a decent midfield, -Brent Harvey would be a fantastic acquisition.

Grant's getting on- Whitnall would be handy at CHF.

Carlton:- We desperately need a a running foward so either Brad Johnson or Brent Harvey would do us nicely. Jonathan Hay would be great for our backline, and message to Shane Crawford - come and be the captain of a genuine finals contender!

P.S. Those who want Kouta! Back off before I hurt you!!!!!He's ours!!!!!

With McKenna gone, McIntosh and Jacko not having much longer - the eagles desperately need another 1-2 good solid defenders, Gasper and Chick and 2 players the eagles should go after.
