There is has been a lot of talk recently how important the "spine"of a team is.

In light of Richmonds deficiencies if you could select any three "spine" players (Forward, Centre, Back) to improve our fortunes who would it be?.

For me:

Forward: Nick Riewolt: Young, Highly Mobile and Marks Everything

Centre: Chris Judd: Young, Explosive, Strong, LONG kicking

Back: Matthew Scarlett: Rarely beaten, use's the ball well, plenty of "mongrel"

Agree on Judd and Scarlett, but would take Jon Brown ahead of Riewoldt. Brown is a big match performer who makes the players around him walk taller and play better. He brings more intangibles to the party than Riewoldt who has yet to really put 4 quarters together.

True I didn't even think of Brown,

Although he is real physical enforcer, I would probably still rather Riewolt. Once Riewolt fills out a bit more he will be much more of a presence.

kretchy, he's 25.

I agree with Scarlett, Judd and Brown as well. All still relatively young and can be relied on. Given that I wouldn't say no to Riewoldt either! Chad Cornes would also be a candidate if he keeps up his form since moving down to the backline this year.
