There will be plenty wanting to do something similar....which is why it's unlikely to come off too many times.

Adelaide were quick though to wave it around first.
This smacks of PR. s**t things are happening so let’s give our supporters something to be happy about. I’ve got past caring about this pick swap. My honest take on it is that Adelaide need the pick more than we do.

Oh, they do...and how.

Know they're going to lose plenty of premium talent in the next year or two, by way of retirement and players wanting to move out.
Seem to be desperately wanting to do a Port Adelaide now, but it may be too late.

Interesting development. Draft pick for sale.

Ogilvie was interviewed on the latest road to the draft podcast.

He said the draft is pretty even and that clubs will like different players.

Didn't sound like there was a clear standout for their selection.

Also sounds like he thinks the trade was a win win. He openly said they thought they were going to be a bit higher on the ladder, so clearly they didn't account for trading away a top 10 pick as a part of this trade.

Am bewildered at the number of occasions Crow posters refer to Teague as one of their own; even going so far as writing that we should indirectly thank the Crows for our improvement.

In reality they should be thanking us for their 2017 killer forward line functionality, which contributed in major part to their GF appearance. They were fortunate to have the valuable, yet temporary, input of a true Blue.

Adelaide...
Salty cos they're not in the 8.
Salty cos They won't get pick one...or two.
Salty cos they're old.
Salty cos Power are better than them and above them on the ladder.
Salty cos they're youth isn't getting played and coming on...were as the Power again have them covered in this area - as do we.
Salty cos they are entitled and feel like the AFL is against them.
Salty cos their window has closed.
Salty cos they don't have Lukocious or Rankine.
Salty cos they got Gibbs for 2 x first rounders...from us, haha ya salty suckers.
Salty cos Pyke.
Salty cos of Burton, Ricciuto etc etc.
Salty cos no big names being spoken about in going to them.
Salty cos it appears there willl be another exodus of players.
Salty cos they can't even get a spark of hope in any matter, shape or form, on or off the field.
Salty cos they've got nothin!

Salty...suck it muppets!!

Now I'm thirsty...
Forgive me for a sec, what you are trying to say is Adelaide

Where we finish really doesn’t matter now. It’s not bottom 2 and whether we hand over pick 3 or pick 4 is kind of irrelevant

Although I guess we can still finish 17th

We want Crows to finish the season as close to us on the ladder as possible for maximum salt and future trolling.

Can't help but think their supporters will be pissed if it eventuates.

It's one of the things they hang their hat on - being "almost successful" (ie. not awful) without ever having high draft picks. Now that they've got their hands on one, I reckon their supporters will be looking forward to taking a kid at the pointy end of the draft, and if Reid trades the pick away for a few picks in the late teens, there might just be a big backlash.

Big finish to the year coming up over the next fortnight.

If results go our way this weekend, Adelaide can slip down to 11th, whilst we can jump Sydney and find ourselves sitting in 15th.

- Melbourne to beat Sydney
- Collingwood to beat Adelaide
- Port Adelaide to smack North Melbourne
- Fremantle to beat Essendon
- Bulldogs to beat GWS
- Hawthorn to smack GC

As unlikely as it may be, if that happens, we'll set up a final round which can see us jump another spot to 14th, and Adelaide can again slip down to 12th.

All we need then is for the Suns to be awarded a priority pick and we've swapped Stocker + pick 8 for pick 6...

:D

The only reason why Melbourne beating Sydney would be a good result is if you knew St Kilda will knock off the Swans at the SCG in round 23.

Otherwise all that result does is open up the door for Pick 2 to the Crows.

This will be interesting.
