Pick 13 + 29 for pick 16 + Mead + Schofield + Jones for shit picks is a win any way you look at it.

If the status quo remains im happy with it. If we go and trade 12 and 16 for 9 and 50 or something silly then ill be less happy

When I did math in high school they said you don’t add an amount to only one side of the equation.

Adding Schofield and Jones like that is Janusesque

The fact that the second 2nd rounder will be worthless, because it will be used up on a bid on Mead. Where as trading it away we got some worth out of it and still get the same player.

To be fair to Macca, he said "for shit picks", and he did include 29 in the outs even though we probably lost it for Mead anyway. I'd be tempted to delete it and Mead (and the picks in the 50s) from the equation.
 
lol I can't wait to see these "support the club herpaderpa" types to be like "i didn't see that coming, wow! Brave call!" when Hinkley is sacked.

Except doing that acts as implies we had zero other moves for 29

eg. 18 and 29 for 16 and something. Trade 29 into next year. Trade 29 and our future 2nd round into a first.

So many option that didnt put our 2020 first round pick on the line.

There's some merit in what you say, however at the same time, the view that trading 29 makes this deal worse without highlighting that it would get chewed up if we didn't do something with it (which some seem to be suggesting) is a greater crime IMO.

I haven’t seen anyone on the ‘absolutely don’t trade pick 29’ bus, so thats an imagined crime you’re righting
 
So 6 first round picks in 2 years and all it took was finishing 10th twice, trading away our 2020 1st round pick and trading Wingard, Polec and Howard.

What has Schofield and Jones got to do with the equation of this trade?

We gave up potentially pick 10 in 2020 which could turn into pick 13 as you suggested for Brisbane to use.

We still have to find say pick 10 and 20 to draft Schofield + Jones if their form hold up in 2020, and we didn't get anything from Brisbane to help do that.

I'm happy to see this as giving up Pick 13+29 to get pick 16+Mead, but that is the full extent of the equation for this trade.
 
Interesting decision by the Club.
But hey .. remember last year when they did swaps .. what happened. Rozee, Butters & Duursma. No complaints there now LOL
The cunning buggers must have their eyes on a player or two again, who they think, will bolster our list.
I will wait an see what players they draft.

It is just so predictable I’m afraid.

The club did ok last year by being aggressive.
Hopefully this works out ok too.

At last we have some father sons coming through too.

It sounds like Luko is lost to us though, unless we
manage to trade Ollie or others next year.

Not much point in raging until we see the end result. This is still a work in progress. Our drafting has been mostly decent lately so I’m willing to have a little faith.

I have every confidence that we’ll trade back into the first round for 2020 by jettisoning another “lazy” player.
