Just on our performances and list managment, fitness etc.

I'm almost certain the only reason we beat Sydney is because we actually had a fresh bunch of players - players actually got a moment to catch their breath and recharge. We haven't really had a break since then (quite a few 6 day breaks - before the Hawks game and Saints game in particular and only one 8 day break I think)

Our schedule was bullshit, why fixture a Sunday game coming off the bye followed by 7 days to a derby then 6 days, 6 days.

Surely it makes more sense to go
Bye
Friday night
Saturday
Saturday/Saturday night
Sunday
Sunday

17 players unavailable?

All I can do is laugh.

It would really hurt not to get picked this week.

Add Ruffles, Shephard and Sibo, too late for them to be promoted

As long as Schammer gets a farewell game I'll be happy. He deserves it, showed more ticker over his career than any of the guys did last week (the great SNOS excepted of course).

I really hope he gets a chance - he's been in great form in the WAFL, and from what I saw when I went to a few Claremont games while I was over there his disposal is better too. Heart and soul wise, he certainly tries a lot harder than a few we trotted out at the weekend.

At least we'll beat the spread then.

Made me laugh so hard I fell off my chair...

Then I wondered what the odds for:
(a) a forfeit; or
(b) us losing by 100+ points

will be. Am off to try to find out...

Woo Palmer can finally play in the midfield! :3

You mean full back on Dawes

Good to see the humour returning on this board, even if it is making fun of our team...

BTW, Palms was actually OK when given a run in the middle for bits of the last quarter I thought - God forbid he gets a whole game as a mid, he'll probably get 25+ possies...

The thing is, while I'm sure players like Scham, Kep and Lower would be stung if they were overlooked, I reckon a few of the players who seem guaranteed free passes actually wouldn't give a hoot if they were dropped. That's the attitude we had in a few "favoured" players under Connolly, and I fear it is returning now...

Takes a fair bit of guts to want to be picked in a team that is likely to get thrashed - and sadly some of our players just don't have that guts. Feel for any of the players that get to play their only AFL match against the Pies - AFL career 1 match, 1 loss, margin 150+ points?? Not something to keep for the grandkids.

In today's presser Harvs mentioned that a couple of players can't be considered because they've had insufficient game time since being injured.

I assume he means Bollenhagen and Houghton.

So if Hinkley fails to get up from his injury it will mean that we will have exactly 22 players to choose from - so this week's team will, literally, and perhaps for the first time in AFL history, pick itself.:(

i must admit my first reaction to this last bit was to chuckle.... then i took to shaking my head in disbelief.... it really has been the year from hell

Hears ya, like watching an accident unfold, you want to turn away but somehow it's too morbidly fascinating ....

BTW I've omitted Roberton given the ankle injury he's reported to have picked up.

Pretty sure Houghton has played for at least the last 4 weeks in the WAFL, probably more.

Would Justin Longmuir play?

Bats for the other team now.

Better off to try Moller, The Wiz's two young boys and the WAGs unborn foetuses.

Have I missed anybody?

If that's the case, are we going to even bother training this week and risk further injuries?

Friday night will see the worst forwardline in the league line up against the best defense.

I think it's time to cheer behinds people*

*should the rare oppurtunity arise that the ball ends up in our 50
