Meyer, you don't even know his name.

And how do you know that Moloney is better, Meyer is at least 3 years his junior, I say let the trade play out and see what happens, instead of bagging the kid just because of another. 2 1st round picks for a player who wanted out is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Molony was ordinary before the Dees got him, and still is. Meyer was just your regulation TW draft clanger - there's a litany of them now at Tigerland. :)

Moloney is not ordinary, he'd slot into the blues midfield anytime.

Not close. The reason why the Cats got rid of him, was his temperment - he folds under pressure. Some say he cost the Cats a finals series. His skills aren't that crash hot either. He's a serviceable midfielder, but not much more. Would probably be the #2 Tiges midfielder though. :)

Would you prefer your club to trade an unwanted player for 1st round draft pick or an established 22 year old player?

The established player is a better choice as a draft pick (even a first round) would be a gamble.

I would prefer to trade for two second round picks over two years for a player, if only draft picks were offered.

Here is an interesting article from NFL.com writer Gil Brandt on draft values. Also has a chart with draft values used by a (un-named) NFL team. Definitely worth checking out as I feel the AFL draft system mirrors the NFL version.

iacobucci was a complete draft disaster. Who has been in charge of the Pies list management over the past 5 years? Some serious questions need to be answered. Something to reflect on during your 4-year bottom-4 tenure. :)

You know the way I feel about Iacobucci, so that is not really a fair comparison. But, as for the bottom 4 tenture, we will not fall that low because there will always be teams like yours worse than us to cushion our fall.:)

See, coming from a fan of a team that has won 3 wooden spoons in the past 5 years, I'm not too worried.

And I don't think we'll be firing anyone over the failure of a #55 draft pick...

I would say it really depends on wo the established player is.
If your team is coming into good form, take the pick give him a couple of years to become a good player.
You could also get a young established player, that would be a little better because you would have seen him play more and you could see what he can do.
