I reckon 5 is fair under the new system. However, I also think they may make an example out of him and he could get 8. Even though I can't stand the sniper, 8 is way too harsh and I hope they don't go down that path.

With the new laws, I hope many players who get off weak normally cop the same treatment as everyone else - the protected players should be dealt with like everyone else. Pickett hasn't gone for something as dangerous as this but I'm sure he'll get the 4-6 week treatment for it.

After listening to Choke-o's comments straight after the match....they sounded almost like tacit approval... :eek: ....when he said in a whiney high pitched voice...."errrr....looking at it there didn't seem to be much in it....."..... :rolleyes: ...so I don't reckon he is going to get any life lessons from that Department. He almost needs a mentor from outside of football completely.

As for the tribunal...I agree S-S...I think the stuff that's been getting one week over the past few years should probably attract a fine these days.....and stuff that has been attracting 3 to 5 weeks should probably be getting 6 to 12 months. The tribunal needs to become more realistic with the technical "love-taps".........and deadly serious with the dangerous stuff

Choco's comments it's what he normally says, he doesn't check the big screen, nor will see the replay in slow mode at that time. Also he wouldn't down a player, but do it behind the scenes but he'll stand up for him to the media, which will always come across in the wrong manner - like you said sounds like he approved of the act. I normally don't listen to the coaches reviews of the game, always sounds the same after each game - "I think we did well, this player did well, great for this player, I didn't see it don't think much was in it ..yadda yadda yadda" ;)

Perhaps not but if a player has to retire due to an injury and depending on that injury caused by an illegal act then the perpertrator should get a set penalty eg 10 games to a season.

I would hope they dish out decent penaties to anyone that does that sort of thing, regardless if they play for Adelaide, Port or anyone. Protect of the players is paramount.

Don't think it was even cited tho. Can't have been on the video.....

Yep it was directly after the incident. On the big screen and the crowd booed it.

seriosuly though, when a guy gets 2 gashes on his face & then has to come back on wearing a bandage, looking like the elephant man, you would think that there may have been room for further review?

Then there has to be a review. But with the lack of recourses that Fox has at grounds is it any wonder that things get missed. Perhaps the Stevens bloody nose incident should get a looking at as well.

With Stevens looked like the ball hit him in the face - but I don't know - one min he goes for a mark (that could have been paid, they've paid marks like that before with finger-tips in it) and next thing he gets up with blood all over his face.... didn't see anyone connect with his nose. :confused:

Holidays......Too much time on my hands...I deleted that post, did look a bit tossery...However, I stick by my comment I would much rather Carr than Pickett.

i reckon carr was more of a thug than pickett! - recall the GF? - carr with clenched fist hovering over aka? ricciuto didnt think much of him, which reminds me, was mark stirring pickett or checking up on him after the begley incident? i was surprised to see him go over & pat & kinda canoodle him - i couldnt work out whether it was genuine or just a ribbing.
