Just then on Channel 10 News they said Byron wants out and he wants to go back to Denis Pagan at Carlton or maybe but unlikely to Western Australia. Would want to come to Carlton abit more I would say home to pagan would be a very good pick up. thoughts.

No, the news suggested a move west was more likely, but he had spoken to pagan. Get it right.

At 29 years old, he is not worth it. We need to rebuild with youth not with guys like Pickett.

Carlton are rebuilding, don't need old players, although he may have something to offer the young boys, they would feel alot more confident knowing he was beside them, not against them 50/50

Age is a worry, but part of me thinks we need an enforcer-type player... hmm, will be a tough call if he is up for the move..

They never said he preferred the west get it right

^ the old carlton and you could call that a done deal...
but if the club wants to move forward like we need to, then we gotta avoid quick fix deals like that one...

Too old, injury and report prone now to earn what he would want.

If he 25 or 26 you might think about him. Carlton should be aiming to trade for good young players with plenty miles left on the clock.

Id hate to have that dirty cheat in my team. The HARDEST player in football, whose never put his own head over the ball. STUFF HIM.

At around $350K/yr whatever you gain by offloading Fevola for example, you lose by taking Byron.

I get concerned when I read Libba is still playing Super Rules.

I'd loved to have had him earlier in his career, but probably not now.

It seems to me that every out of contract ageing player is being linked to Carlton. Surely we wouldn't be stupid enough to go down that track given where we are at the moment. Choppy would have been handy 5 years ago and a team that just needs to top up a bit or pick up a handy bench player could use him. But he only has 2 or 3 years left in him. Realistically we aren't going to challenge for the flag in that time so I see no reason for taking a player that's going to be retired by the time we're a force again.

Dito - No need for Pickett, Salopek is the one we should be interested in
