You should be disgusted with the ferals behaviour..not try and make excuses for the low life.

I'm not trying to make excuses ,there was reported by play between Fevola and the ponsford end going on during the game and someone went too far and did something stupid , which he'll pay for. To be honest I'm not horrified and in tears over the incident , just a person did something gross and over the top and will cop his whack.

I think hitting someone in a wheelchair is probably about the lowest, up their with hitting kids.

By using the word "byplay" you infer that the spitter was provoked. What sort of byplay with Fev would warrant the spitter's response do you think? I understand that you are not expressly defending the action, but try to appreciate that your inference suggests some culpability can be imparted to Fev. I simply don't agree.

You do realise that he was not part of the pies cheersquad, and if he was, he will not be now.

I honestly think that life bans are unfair, even convicted criminals have temporary sentences.
Two to five years would do it.

Stuff that. We need to set a mark for these people. Ban him for life and see how many people will do it in the future.

Maybe a 5 year ban from AFL and a life ban from the G would be in order

The footage doesn't do him any favours, and it sounds like the panel were pretty keen for Eddie to find the guy.

Ban the whole Cheer squad.... yes and we should also send to jail anyone related (friends and relatives) to criminals because they must also be the same.

You cannot spit at someone, but dont generalize on the behavior of one or two individuals. Im a Collingwood member and I was spat at by a Carlton fan last week (a young fella 9-10 kept calling Collingwood players ya _____), but I'm not going to hold that against other Carlton supporters.

Some people just dont know how to behave. This was unacceptable, and as has already been said he should be banned for at least a year.

If seen a St Kilda take a (Collingwood) kid's scarf and throw it from the top teir at the Dome. Still the lowest act I have ever seen at the footy. He had to be escorted away as several Collingwood fans were ready to go him but the rentacops were around, fortunately for him.

The greater majority of supporters are well behaved and cause no problems at the footy. Sadly, it's tools like this bloke that give their club and their followers a bad name. 99.9% of Collingwood supporters would be filthy on this guy and support any punishment that comes his way as would I if he was from my club. We've all got 'em unfortunately.

I think the unbelieveable thing is still the amount of racism at the games, its disturbing.

Was at a game early on this season and with a mate who is of indian background.. A supporter from the opposition was getting cranky because they were losing and decide to inform my mate that he knows nothing about footy and should watch the cricket (fyi he is pretty knowledgable on footy) We were baffled, and as expected a bity of biffo followed... (However it was no All Star Level 2 punch on, that was huge!) Afterwardes the person realised how much of a pig they were and all was good...

I dont think people set out to spit on/racially abuse people/players at the game, in the heat of the moment we do silly things, but the Pie Spitter needs to be banned for life to set an example. Banter is quality at the footy, and it's hilarious most times, but racial/sexual/physical abuse and spitting etc etc is not on...

Was an incident at the Essendon v Hawthorn game last week where this occurred (Mantis was closer than I was - I just happen to know the victim very well). Perpetrator was escorted out I'm lead to believe but still....
