As of Round 18, 2009.

I bloody hope Anthony Rocca plays at least one more game, because it'd look so much better for him to retire on 220, instead of 219. I dunno, its just that the number looks bigger lol at least he has already gotten past the 400 goal mark. Well done Pebbles!

If Shane O'Bree and Simon Prestigiacomo decide to go around for another year, they'd both be the top 2 Magpies for 2010, but there isn't much separating them. Shane O'Bree is at 214 Collingwood games, and Presti is at 213.

Josh Fraser isn't that far behind them, and will be playing his 200th game next year, he is currently at 188. If all goes to plan for Ben Johnson, he'll also be playing his 200th game next year, hes on 178 games at the moment. Leon Davis isn't far behind with 177 games.

Real view of the times, outside Pebbles, our leading goal scorers are Leon Davis and Alan Didak, both with over 200. Davis: 230, Didak: 210.

Alan Didak has officially played more games for Collingwood than Darren Millane, James Clement and Tony Francis with 151.

Ryan Lonie has still played more games than Dane Swan, who is on 118.

We have a number of players that are coming up to the 100 match milestone, and they are very important to the team. Players like Travis Cloke (93), Heath Shaw (85), Dale Thomas and Harry O (77) and Scott Pendlebury (72).

Stay tuned for more....

And so it continues...

Did you know that, although Lockyer has played 10 less games (209) than Pebbles, it has taken just 30 less marks over his career? And is only 2nd to Rocca in the most marks taken by a current player. The next closest player is Fraser, who is 1000 away. Lockyer has taken more marks than Tarrant, Crosisca and even Monkhorst.

PS: Dane Swan has taken 30 or so more marks than James Clement did in his career, even though Swan has played 30 or so less games. Ow how this game has turned uncontested, even Didak has taken more marks than Wakelin, Christian and Watson, even though they've all played around the same number of games.

Did you know Ben Johnson has had more kicks in his career than Davis, Swan and Didak? Hes even had more kicks than Rocca and Fraser. Scott Pendlebury has played just one-thirds the amount of games as Presti, yet has the same amount of kicks over his short career, compared to Presti's long one.

Shane O'Bree is trully the handball king. He is only 4th on the list of all the players from the last 20 years behind Gavin Brown, Scott Burns and Tony Shaw with almost 1800. He is ahead of Licuria, Buckley and even Scotty Russell.

Heres an interesting one for you. When it comes to disposals, Shane O'Bree has accumulated the most of any current Magpies, with Lockyer and Johnson 2nd and 3rd. BUT, did you know that even Anthony Rocca has had more possessions than Davis and Didak? He has only played 50 or so more games than them, so it was a shock to see.

Heath Shaw has also collected more possessions (almost 200) than Scott Pendlebury and has only played around 10 more games.

Dane Swan is the only Collingwood goalkicker who has kicked over 50 goals and managed to kick more behinds than goals. Even Cloke and O'Bree have kicked over 50 goals and managed more goals than behinds.

Paul Medhurst has already kicked more goals for Collingwood than Barwick, Patterson and Nick Davis ever did. He is on 93 goals from 53 games.

Dayne Beams (12 games) has already kicked more goals for Collingwood than Harry O (78 games), Goldsack (41 games). Even Dawes, L Brown, Wellingham and Bryan. He has kicked 13 goals.

Brad Dick and Heath Shaw have kicked the same amount of goals and behinds in their respective careers. 19 goals and 15 behinds.

Leon Davis has had 4 hit outs in his career.

Tarkyn Lockyer has had 8.

Shane O'Bree has laid more tackles than any Collingwood player over the last 20 years, and that includes Paul Licuria, Scott Burns, Nathan Buckley and Gavin Brown.

Scott Pendlebury has laid more tackles than Harry O, Travis Cloke, Heath Shaw and Dale Thomas in his career. This includes Betheras and Freeborn, who played more games for Collingwood than him.

Nick Maxwell has recieved more free kicks than he has given away over the course of his career. Same as Presti, Shaw and Davis.

Dale Thomas has done the opposite, same as Harry O.

I hope you enjoyed.

Tell me, whos had more possessions in a game? Johnson or Davis?

Leon's highest is 32 (this year, ANZAC day and against the Eagles), BJ's highest is 34.

Anthony Rocca has given away 7 free kicks in a game once. But at least he has had 24 possessions in a game.

Do you know what happened in Round 13, 2003 in our win against the Doggies?

We won by 7 goals, and Shane O'Bree was our leading goal-scorer with 4, his highest in a game. The funny thing is hes only ever kicked 7 goals in 18 games against them, so thats more than half in one game!

Three years later, in Round 9, 2006, against the Bullies again, he managed to have 20 handballs, his highest tally.

In 14 games against Sydney, Tarkyn Lockyer has only ever kicked 1 goal, even though hes kicked 137 in his career.

When it comes to Carlton, he seems to have a field day, kicking his most in a game (4 goals) and has averaged over a goal a game in his career.

Who says he isn't in form this year either? He has averaged over 20 possessions a game so far in '09.

Who has kicked the most goals in a single game? Didak or Davis?

Davis has kicked 4 in a game, but Didak wins this one, having kicked 5 in 2002 against the Hawks.

Speaking of Dids, who says he isn't a shoe-in for AA? He has averaged 26.6 possessions a game so far this season, including a career-high 39 against Freo, one more than O'Bree's career high of 38.

Whos kicked the most goals in a single game? Nick Maxwell or Travis Cloke?

Almost! But its Clokey with 5, compared to Maxy's 4. Not bad for a backman.

Whos had the most possessions?

Again, close, but Maxwell wins out in this one with 29 possessions in a game, compared to Cloke's 26.

Thats enough for now.

As of Round 5 2010

The three blokes who've played the most games for the Magpies, on the list, have all missed the ANZAC day clash, and are likely to miss Round 6 against Carlton, in Tarkyn Lockyer and Simon Prestigiacomo, on 223 games, as well as Shane O'Bree, on 220 games for the Magpies. Our next highest, saved his backside last Sunday with a 3 goal performance, and thats Josh Fraser, on 196, and just 4 away from his 200th. Imagine that, our four highest games holders, out because of the quality of the youth thats in.

Both Ben Johnson and Leon Davis sit on 189 games and should play their 200th in '10 as well. Our next closest after that is a distant 163 games by Alan Didak.

To round out the top 10 of our most senior players and the last of current Magpies with 100+ AFL games, there is Dane Swan (130), Nick Maxwell (123) and Travis Cloke on 105.

Is it just a coincidence that, arguably, our four best performed and/or most important players are in the 80 games to 95 games bracket? There is Dale Thomas, Scott Pendlebury, Harry O'Brien and Heath Shaw.

Ow, and for what its worth, Alan Toovey has now played the same amount of games as Marty Clarke (46) and more games than Tyson Goldsack (45), Guy Richards, Matthew Francis (who remembers this guy? #9 in the '90s.), Carl Steinfort, Andrew Williams and Chris Bryan.

It's kind of sad to mention this, but the two greatest goal-scorers on our current list are smalls in Leon Davis and Alan Didak on 244 and 223 goals respectively.

Including those two, and only Travis Cloke, Paul Medhurst, John Anthony, Chris Dawes, Sean Rusling and Brad Dick have managed to kick more goals than games played of the Magpies of 2010.

Underestimate Benny Johnson at your own peril, this chap sits in the top 15 for Magpies, post 1984, with the most kicks (2100 kicks), just short of the likes of Licuria, McGuane, Millane, Wright and Paul Williams, and ahead of Tony Franics, Didak, Rocca and Fraser.

Dane Swan (1882), Alan Didak (1859), and Leon Davis (1835) are not far behind, and marching up the kicks ladder of Magpies over the last quarter century.

Tarkyn Lockyer, on 220 games for the Maggies, like Anthony Rocca, has taken 30 more marks than Pebbles, and both are over 1100 marks.

Dane Swan, on 130 games, has taken 826 marks, which is more than Sav Rocca, who played 26 more games, Darren Millane, Craig Starcevich and James Clement. Monkey, a 200+ game ruckman, has taken just 85 more marks than Swanny, quite a remarkable statistic.

Shane O'Bree is still the handball king, sitting 4th on the all-time list, behind just Tony Shaw, Scott Burns and Gavin Brown, all champions of the Collingwood FC. He is also THE tackles king of any Magpie over the last 25 years. Sitting at #1 with 744 tackles, ahead of Burns, Buckley, Licuria and the rest.

Dane Swan, again, sitting up there in the top dozen or so for handballs. Has dished out more, having played less games, than other Magpie midfielders such as Wright, Williams, Francis, Millane and McGuane.

Darren Jolly, in just 5 games, has already had more hitouts (97) than Leigh Brown has in his 27 games. Jolly, again, although having played significently less games, is also less than 50 hitouts away from the likes of Tristen Walker, Matthew Francis, David Fanning and Cameron Cloke, all Magpie ruckmen at one stage over the last 15 years.

Lastly, a random fact, but Gavin Brown gave away, and recieved the most free kicks of any Magpie of the last 25 years. Its quite interesting that he leads both for and against frees.

Hope you enjoyed.

Wicked stuff PL87 :thumbsu:

It's really interesting to see how young our side still is. Once we start getting our younger guys into the 75-150 games bracket we will be much better placed for a crack at a premiership.
