Footy's back!
With more uncertainty than ever before are you up for the Pieman challenge? What will the new abnormal be like? Will we continue to serve up the same s**t we did against Collingwood or will we live up to our pre-season billing of Top 4 candidate? Can anyone kick a goal?
Covid19 lockdown update: You'll be pleased to know that we got ourselves a piemaker during the lockdown and have actually started making pies. Easy as. (I figured it's important to practise what you prattle on about.) The beauty of making your own pies is that you actually know what you're eating.
The plan for the Pieman is this - we'll let it run for a few weeks according to the AFL's schedule. When we have a fair idea how it's shaping - and who's shaping up in front of goals - we'll have a "mid-year" trade period. But that might be as early as after Round 4 or 5 so that you have the chance to get your season back on track if necessary. I'll let you know in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile it's time to be thinking about whether you want a banker this week. Most likely you'll want to wait until after teams are named and finalised (we have the Sunday game so that might be Friday night) but in any case we're open for business.
So if you want a banker for Rd 2, nominate him here before match start time.
No doubt you'll have forgotten who's in your team so here's the list.
And here's the leaderboard after Rd 1:
If anybody still wants to join (having only missed one round) you're more than welcome. You won't get any points for Rd 1 but hey, you'll be starting on level terms with a couple of the above! And we only kicked 5 goals so nobody got a big score in Rd 1 anyway.
Just lodge your entry in The Pieman 2020 season thread.
