Pies Buddy 2007 - Draft Thread

This is the thread where the draft will take place for you to choose your Pie Buddy for 2007. There are 43 participants, but Chris Dawes is unlikely to be selected by anyone, so a 44th spot isn't heavily relied on.

An draft order will be randomized soon, and when your number comes up, you will be able to choose your Buddy. With the season approaching and 43 picks, there will be a time limit of 12 hours. If it is your pick, you are on the clock and have 12 hours to take your pick. If you don't choose in that 12 hours, the list will continue on and you can make your selection at any time, but may miss your priority. This is to get things moving quickly.

Pretty much, you're putting yourself on the line for them to do well - If they do, you get to brag the most, and if they don't... Well, you have to cop it from all of the mean people on here for backing a dud.

You also have to back them like parrot backs Carlton - With no basis in reality. You can't turn on your buddy mid-season if they're having a bad year.

As for people with school, which may effect their voting in their 12 hour period, you can do as P4L said, by sending me a request of your player(s) when close to your pick if that's what you want to do to ensure no risk. I work early hours of the day to noon (at the latest) so I will be online when you aren't, so safe with me.

Also, as to what happens with this, is pretty much what vinnie said. It is your duty to advertise your player on the board as you have the responsability. The majority is bragging rights I guess, but also to give you some involvement on the site other than reading posts.

Remember, everyone can have an avatar and signature (special people have bigger and longer respectvely), so the RULE is to have your selected player in your avatar and/or sig. If you need help, vinnie, FIGGY, myself or others can be at assistance.

Actually, as the sub-forum is for non-footy talk, maybe it would be better to use the stickied thread. It might not be organised as much per player as a thread would, but it would be put to use more than what it was last year.
