Autopsy Pies down by 11 in tight game

Honestly, I seriously hope we get a tough draw straight up next year so those that can't manage their expectations throughout the season take an early leave from the game rather than ranting and raving about why we missed a top 4 berth or finals. I've no issues with where we are at with a club, I can see development and I can see the future in many of our kids. I know I'll cop flack from the haters gunna hate camp for this but FFS if you can't handle an 11 point loss against a quality team like Sydney in Sydney than give it a miss.
We will get the exact same style of draw next year as we did this year. We'll probably play the Hawks twice, but no other top 4 team more than once. If we finished 6th or higher, we would get a real tough draw next year

Can someone tell Langdon he has to wear boots not slippers.

Marsh might be a gem.

But then Marsh might play another 30 games and you will see something slightly negative about him, he might make a couple of mistakes a game and he will be Shit.

Agreed on Langdons and other pies players boot selection last night, far too much slipping over.

I can live with the odd mistake from Marsh. His weapons are exciting.

In the last 30 games this is who we hav played
Melb x 3
Haw x 3
Carl x 3

Dogs x 2
Ess X 2
Port x 2
Adel x 2
Suns x 2
WC X 2
Bris x 2
Syd x 2

Cats x 1
Rich x 1
Saints x 1
Nth x 1
Freo x 1
GWS x 1

So of the sides that made the 8 last year, we hav only played them 13 times. How is that not a soft draw these past 30 games?
Mate you are clearly not much good at statistics. 17 other teams in the league. 8/17 were in the top 8. Therefore you'd expect roughly 14 games out 30 against these teams. Oh no, we've only had 13, that one games makes it such a soft draw

I get very frustrated at our ball movement. We take it out to the wing and kick long to a contest. Which given Sydney set up with a man on man defense covered by a hard working zoning midfield was playing against the odds. Sydney would smother it in the air and back their midfielders to win the contest and run it out. We're a good contested side granted, but they are better. The best way to maneuver through that set up is to work in triangles and pick up some short angled passes while maintaing possession. The options were there. The intent and willingness to take the risk wasn't.
It seems to be a symptom of a drop in confidence compared to earlier in the year.

When u play melb and carl 6 times in 30 games u expect to win all of them. How would it be looking if we had only played them twice and instead played freo and geelong an extra time.

Can we let the snide one liner remarks about the coach go? There's plenty of discussion over in the Buckley thread for that sort of thing but please let's refrain from outright public bashing of a) the coaching panel and b) the players. Sure provide constructive criticism and back it up with discussion points to be debated but the one line snipes against any of our club staff, players, officials or supporters are not welcome here!

An average young side with a sprinkling of a-grade talent just fails to beat a very good side on it's last legs.

One can have an issue with certain coaching decisions but there's no reason to huff and puff about the performance itself.

This is one of the most illogical arguments I have ever seen. So essentially you are arguing that our draw was easy because if you sub out games against lower ranked opponents and instead play premiership contenders, we would win less games, therefore our draw is soft. :drunk: That's probably the same for most teams.

It's a bit of a mixture of disappointment and frustration at losing close games that were ours for the taking (Freo, Hawks, Port and now Swans) if not for poor conversion in front of goal and a lack of composure. I know its due to a lack of experience and immaturity in our young side and that we are at the bottom of our J curve, but geez this season is hard on the patience at times.

Anyways, what is done is done and we all should look forward to seeing the Pies realise their potential over the next 5 years. Onwards and upwards :thumbsu:

Why not tag some of the posters?
Honestly, they are a disgrace.
I'll sure as f tag them when we're flying next year.
At least Dave admits he's angry immediately after a loss. He's about 10 times the man than a poster whose name rhymes with fluger

Its okay mate you can mention my name, Im not gona sook to a mod being the coward you are.

Dude, don't bring logic into it- he doesn't have time for that.

What im saying in our run of last 30 games, we hav underperformed, and it would hav been even worse if we didnt hav such an easy draw as we hav had.
Comprende?

And here comes the collingwood and bucks bashing from posters that were non existent at the start of the year.

We will be better for this year. You cannot blame the coach because if we could bloody kick straight at goals and under pressure we would win.

Game plan fine, just don't have the cattle YET.

The way some posters have reacted this year, and last, is a disgrace to the club. I would actually get a fairer discussion on the main board than I do here. I know this isn't the place to talk about it, but this place is just so toxic nowadays. How so many pies fans can just lay into bucks who hasn't really done anything wrong apart from some strange selections is beyond me.

Most of you were saying we were bottom four, we just miss finals and have fought out every game to the end all season and you want to sack and delist everyone...

Really makes it hard to participate with the board at all.
Mate, you're 11th with Geelong and Richmond to come.
