The pies finally need to land a big fish or two after ED quoted on the footy show years ago that opposition players will be flocking to collingwood after the facilities of the new Lexus centre is built??? after 5 years were are they ED??? He also quoted that josh fraser will be the future collingwood captain on the footy show back in 1999 when fraser was going to get drafted at no 1 //remember we overlooked PAV in that draft..we would be lucky if we get a third round draft pick for fraser now... We need somehow to get fev jolley and a couple of onballers that can kick and run...it might take our first two selections and (mr finals NOT leon) and (im just in oar of all these opposition stars toovey) to get these deals over the line

Josh may not have become Captain.. but Ed was close.
We missed on Pav.. sh*t happens.. thing is how have Freo gone in the years that Pav has been there
compared to us... shows we are recruiting wisely in comparison.

Leon was not the only one missing during finals.. in fact if Davis Didak and Shaw had not played so well mid year we would not have had the turn around that got us to the finals in the first place.

I am one of those that actually like seeing people like yourself coming out over Toovey, Leroy etc... they finish eating their words and fading away into never land then coming back under another name during the off season praising the guy... or vice versa

It seems almost certain now that Collingwood have dropped off in the race to land their big fish!

Collingwood power brokers have decided to offer up their #14 pick in the chase for Sydney big man Jolly.

As this is the case they have now diminished their chances of snarring what could be a big chance at a flag next year with the inclusion of Fevola.

Collingwood approached Carlton on Friday with a first offer of their second round pick #30 along with Dawes, at which Carlton scoffed at.

Port have since come in with an offer of pick #8, #24 and Salopek in exchange for Fev and Hampson. A much more reasonable deal that Carlton seem to be seriously considering, included in this deal, would be Carlton paying 300k a season of Fev's salary.

When will Collingwood power broakers learn that in order to gain a big name player in trade time, they need to offer up something decent in return.

Fev now adds to a long line of big name players that Collingwood have failed to land.

So you still think the Captain and the future captain demanding he go, only two clubs expressing any real interest in him and the fact he is an off-field liability leaves Carlton with the upper hand in trade discussions.

that doesnt mean shit, max was just asked for his opinion, nothing more, it wont have anything to do with the players IMO because the players or some players will have a conflict of interest, either they wont want their spot in the team put in jeopardy or they wont want their mates spot put in jeopardy. IMO, i read nothing into that at all. whats with max saying theres no room in our forward line, wat a dik.

Yeah I agree, especially when his whole point is pretty flawed. Obviously one of our young forwards would be part of the trade and which creates the space and means you don't have to worry about leaving one to lament in the VFL.

Although I do feel Mick's remarks in regards to Stevens probably say the most out of that article, he knows a lot of people will want us to chase Fev but he is pretty clearly outlining the club won't move heaven and earth to get him, they'll more than likely not bother at all.
