It's great that North making noises about getting Buckley to be their head coach set off the chain reaction that lead to a hastily put together, poorly thought out "succession plan" and ended up in today's mess with a decade wasted

Thanks Norf 💕

To be a fly on a wall..

Collingwood gave away their 2021 first round pick (Currently Pick 2, worth 2517 points) to GWS for:

2020 pick 24 (785 points)
2020 pick 30 (629 points)
2021 fourth round pick tied to Geelong, currently pick 68 (59 points)

That's an overall loss of 1035 points, which is equivalent to giving away Pick 17 for nothing in return.
Amazingly, they did this in the same trading period as pushing Adam Treloar out and payed the Bulldogs $300k to say thank you.
A guy they traded pick 7 x 2 for, and they received a return of pick 44 (in points) based on current ladder positions - a loss of 3,288 draft points (freaking lol).

So even before considering the Stephenson trade to North that's 4,323 points - the equivalent of Pick 1 plus Pick 11 in the same trading period!

Not to mention Collingwood FC paid individuals a decent salary to make these decisions.

The most amazing thing is that the individuals involved are still gainfully employed in their same roles.

I have a strong suspicion that the person who made those decisions (or at least made other decisions which created the environment where there were no good choices to decide on) was not getting paid.

Decisions he had no place to be making, too. And then sent other poor saps out into the spotlight to defend the indefensible, and keep him and his boyfriend out of the firing line.

We haver plenty of talent to trade. Big Cox out of contract, two first rounders for him. Richmond will do the deal as Rance will come back as long as he does not have Big Cox destroy him again.
DeGoey's value is only marginally more than Cox at the moment, everyone else are at an age where they're prospects for Geelong or Hawthorn only, then you have to spend the few points you have on Daicos, if norf matches your bid.

Might be worth losing to Norf this week, if you have a choice

Now you are just being silly. We have the best list managers/traders in the game. Its all under control. Just look at the free agents we have attracted over the year, Clinton 'hard man' Young, Quinten 'Simple Jack) Lynch, Chris 'crusty the clown' Mayne and Daniel 'take it to the' Wells. Our future is just so bright.

It's all part of the long con - convince the world that there doesn't need to be an operations salary cap by being so unbelievably terrible with off-field decisions that nobody will think Collingwood being able to spend money will make any difference, then buy up all the actually talented people from other clubs.
The only con being played here is on Collingwood's members by Ned Guy, and not even a successful con at that. :straining:

They might still get their man.
