So disillusioned with whats going on at lexus Centre.

Our problem area this year was not the fwds, the reason our fwd line fell over in the second half of the year was bc Rocca could not run out the year given he did not play at all last year and moreover bc our mids are average.

This trade period should have presented an opportunity to move a few of them on. Unless he is going to start playing Licca etc in the two's then how are the youngsters going to get the opportunity?

sadly this was an opportunity to move some on ....even for late picks. The depth this year is fantastic.

What about swapping S.Johnson for Lonie and keeping our bloody pick.

Sadly, MM's misguided loyalty has ensured another year of mediocrity i fear! I hate saying that but i think when you finish 5th you want to feel that you can make the improvement to get to the top. Cannot see OBree, Holland, Licca taking us there

Trades are hard to do and the midfield problem is far more likely to be solved with draft picks rather than trades

I honestly think your right snoop.....but i think that they need a key defender!

Walklin and clement are getting old....i think we should trade Taz for pollak.....he's a great grab, hard at it and reads the play really well...and only 22.

what you think?

What could you get for Rocca?

I would look at trading both Rocca and Tarrant. Getting some pretty good draft picks and hopefully build a team for when the likes of Thomas and Pendlebury come good - that's if they do.

Would any Collingwood folks here entertain a Rocca trade for a high draft pick?

mate cmon- you cant be serious- Taz ****s all over polak any day of the week, why would we trade Taz who has a much higher value than polak's? That is just stupid we already have O'brien being elevated surely and we drafted john anthony for the future- forget polak he aint worth it.

On the trading rocca suggestion- i dont think clubs will be willing to entertain the idea of getting a real high draft pick probably 2nd rnd at best. We cannot trade both Tarrant and Rocca thats just silly- i think there are worse players than Taz and Pebs who shouldve been put on the market yet i agree MM loyalty is blinding him to the reality. In all seriousness Taz at 25 going 26 i would keep and start off loading some of the older mob.

Does Collingwood have a genuine key position player that could play forward or back? Travis Cloke is yet to prove he can. Other than him, we don't have one at all! O'Brien has a LOT to learn and can only play in defence. Taz is so one dimensional its not funny, those Collingwood supporters saying to put him in the midfield are kidding themselves. Do you honestly think he will be able to find the footy like a Goodes?

Polak definately gives us that option, of a tall that can hold his own down back and then go forward and take a contested mark. He is a super overhead grab and can play that dual role. He can kick and will add the side with so much more flexibility.

He would be a great pick up for us, he is young, wants a change of scenery to kickstart his career and would fit straight in with Wakelin st....ruggling big time.

Is Graham Polak a proven KPP player who can plat at both ends of the ground? No
Has been struggling to get a game for Freo and when he does looks out of place. There are also more problems with this guy than meets the eye

Point taken Strachuniee, and I know the problems you are referring too!!

Tarrant has failed to deliver too many times, Polak is young and best footy ahead of him. He has been injured and worked his way back into the Freo line up and played 12 straight or something like that, but injured himself again.

I just think he is a better option for us.

Clement and Presti 3-4 more years with Toovey, Anthony and OBrien and Maxwell coming along.....all ok there me thinks

Yeah, right.

Tarrant IS NOT one dimensional. He brings a few tricks to the table. He works his butt off on the lead, he can take a high flyer and he has strong hands, and he brings other players into the game.

Lets just get a few things straight!!!!

First of all the people in the collingwood forum who have said we should clean the list out and get rid of licca and rocca have no ****ing idea what day it is! Pull your heads in!!!

You dont get rid of proven key position players lightley!!! Collingwood have enough young talent coming through the list, if they can give pick 28 to the cats for Johnson, DO IT!!!! and keep Tarrant and make sure they get a good kid with pick 11 or whatever pick they have..could be 10...

Rocca kicked his biggest overall tally this year beating his personal best! Rusling will come up and so will Travis Cloke so we should be alright in this department with Steve Johnson pushing forward and Tarrant (didak too) we are fine!!!!!!!!

I don't see the problem with taking Polak and pick 13. We probably end up taking another KPP with one of our picks, instead we would draft a mid. There are enough quality mids in the draft to try getting one there than forcing Freo to get us an extra one on top of the pick. Polak could be a good CHB, Anthony could be a future FB. Travis Cloke could be a backup for the position as he would likely be playing CHF the rest of the time. I don't see any other young talls we have that fit the bill. Don't go talking about our mid sized -190cm utility defenders either. Our depth for KP defenders is NOT that great. It's our depth for makeshift KP defenders that looks good.

I agree, our forward stocks would improve dramatically although SJ would be a gamble- it isnt a real bad one. Keeping Taz as well would mean healthy rotations through the midfield especially rotating leon, SJ and didak for spells on the ball and perhaps even Taz pushing up hard onto a wing or playing the role he plays for us now. Rocca and T. Cloke and Rusling out of the square- what a prospect. Very promising forward line and mix for rotations we would have without off loading Taz.

Coin Toss - the tricks you elude to, strong leading, strong hands, high flying marks - where do these tricks take place mate. In the backhalf, in the middle, out on a wing perhaps? Or is his only position up forward?

Ever seen Tarrant kick on his right foot, ever seen him shark a ball off a pack, break some tackles, break the lines and drive the ball forward. Is Tarrants only position in the forward 50m? Have we seen him in any other position (perhaps on HFF pushing up the ground on the lead), can he move into the middle and get the footy and create play, NO.

He leads, marks, drops it and misses more goals than he kicks.

He works his butt off on the lead - do ever think that Tarrant wastes much off his energy leading to the wrong spots?

IMO, I think we are better off with Polak and a draft pick for him. Just my opinion.

So in your opinion we are better off with a player who has more off-field problems than Tarrant? (Tarrant doesn't seem to have any serious off-field problems)

Why the hatred for a bloke who has continuously played through injury only to have it thrown back in his face by unappreciative fans such as yourself?

Have you even watched any matches or are you writing what seems to be popular this month? Often the ball is kicked 10m in front of him or over his head, have you not seen Tarrant chase his opponent to pressure him and either make a tackle or cause an ineffective disposal?

Tarrant is an easy scapegoat for when the team isn't firing. I think he played a very good season.

Hey mods this is what I don't understand. In this thread we have people avoiding the swear filter, a mod belittling a poster other posters belittling others and yet we do not see one warning. It must be seen by the mods as being perfectly normal. Yet if murray was to do the same thing he is warned or banned. I am really at a lose to understand the difference.
Why is one poster warned or banned but other posters and mods allowed to do the exact same thing. I am confused. Can we just get the rules clear please so we all know what they are.
