Hi All,

Just had it brought to my attention that a couple of days ago, Hutchy twittered 'Dees to make Prelim or better in2011'

Lets hope this 'footy expert' is BANG on the money!

Would be interested to find out why he thinks we will finish so highly. I still think we are a couple of years away from making an impact on finals footy. That's not to say we can't make finals in the coming couple of seasons. I just think we still have a lot of development to do before we can say confidently we will be winning finals footy.

But it's nice to know some people will be rating us going into 2011, even if it is Hutchy...

Good call by Hutchy. We are going to win the flag and bring back the wobble, everbody especially Collywobble supporters are just going to have to accept this.

We did hang with Collingwood twice last year, so I don't see why people think it'd be SO impossible for Hutchy to be right. Sure, it'd be unexpected, but it COULD happen when you think about it. Not to mention we woulda finished higher on the ladder if we didn't have so many injuries early, including Jurrah for most of the year. That really ****ed our forward line imo, especially when Pettard went down aswell. & now that we have a full-side with no troubles... I wouldn't be surprised of the greatness we can achieve this year. Sky's the limit tbh.

I think that we will be around the fringes of the eight come seasons end,the aim should be to win at least half our games,like a couple of others have already said i don't see us being a real threat (this season) until at least 2013!

I agree, I would like to think we could go higher than 7-8 but the reality is we have a very young team.
A number of our players have less than 30 games to their credit until they prove they can play very well over 70 - 100 games we are in no danger of making the GF IMO.

Yeh what I meant was - when was the last time we read an article from Hutchy or Caroline Wilson about a coaches specific tactics on gameday, or how a teams midfield set up at stoppages, or even how a player beat his direct opponent?

They just seem to write about things like boardroom politics, a players drunken night out or the St Kilda Schoolgirl. They need more footy cred before I get excited that one of them thinks we'll play finals.

True. I guess I just got a little excited seeing someone have that much faith in us this early in the year. Even though it is Hutchy of all people, it's still interesting to say the least .

I think this year we will see our best form can take it up with the top 4 teams but we won't do it often enough to finish in the 4 which will make it harder to make a prelim. Would be awesome if it happens though. Bring on 2011.
