Of all the things he has said during the season, most of which I don't think were THAT outrageous, this is definitely the worst.

Personally I think it's a sign of disrespect towards Simon Black.

Has anyone told Aker that it is a team sport, and you should support the team?

This has got to take the cake for the most stupidest thing he has done all year.

Yeah, that's pretty poor. We got the Crows one on TV over here and every single player seemed like they were having the best time. I thought these things were to reflect on the season and enjoy it with your teammates. I liked all of Akermanis's controversial statements throughout the year because they were entertaining but this is different when it's to do with his own club. I agree, disappointing from Akermanis.
 
Michael bowers, the Lions CEO, said the club had accepted Akermanis' reasons to not attend the best and fairest, and I very much doubt it was the same as he told the Australian. Most people haven't realised it's all one big joke to Aker, the press write up whatever he says. He is playing them along and they keep taking the bait!! He does go overboard at times and I was extremely disappointed by his comments re: the Norm Smith, but once the media wake up to it, it will fade away.

Mind you, as long as he keeps producing on the paddock I don't mind too much that he takes a lot of the attention and media pressure off other players.

Not when there is family involved. Footy comes second when there are family functions on.
He is on International duty.

It has nothing to do with his family or international duties. He said quite simply that he didn't like going to those sorts of thing.

How could you not want to go anywayand get to spend a good evening with your teamates and probably best friends in life. Strange boy.

Exactly what I was thinking. There are \/\/ankers in every footy team.

If he was playing the media along, it's the wrong way to go about it. Saying that sort of crap, whether it is true or false puts him in a negative light in front of the public, because that who is reads the media's garbage, the public.

If he wants to deceive the media, which would be funny nonetheless, this is not the right way to go about it.

I actually thought his rugby comments were quite funny. but this, it's just stupid.

If there was another reason, he could have said so, even if it was family or personal reasons, he could just say that without disclosing the details, and everyone would accept it.

It is a bit hard when he was in Melbourne to train with the guys and was not allowed to go to his team dinner.

Mind you they flew out today.

It's not about them being the best side in the league. Even if they were wooden spooners, this would still be disgraceful action.

It's got nothing to do with wins and losses this particular thread.
 
Not happy with that pic of aker, his face seems to be to clean to be him. I mean I wouldnt want to be seen in public if I had bad acne like him.

Akermanis isn't playing in the International Series, hence Matty Scarlett's inclusion, so why are you lying about this? Get a grip on reality before offering rubbish excuses for a tool like Acnemanis.
