Seeing as we had a couple of complaints about late pitch submission, look what I found in the rules :)

2.5: Late submission of a pitch condition: Late submission of a pitch type will result in the home team being docked a point on the premiership table and the pitch type being selected in the game as “Random”.

Now if most captains were unaware, so be it, but from now on it will be enforced

Agreed, points should be lost for this round. I remember this point being raised when the rules were written up.

doesnt have to be at the same time, but there was discussion a while back that the dead line for a pitch should be 24 hours or something before the team deadline.

This happened in round 5 after Fred complained about late pitch selections.

I don't really understand why you need to dock a point for a late pitch, the game will still go off on time & the rules state that the pitch just goes to random.

But SEM purposefully didn't select a pitch so that it would go to random against us, does that count as a late pitch selection? It must do because nowhere is there any option to select a 'random' pitch, by these rules they didn't select a pitch.

This needs clearing up, can a club legitimately not select a pitch so that it goes to random, without losing a point for late pitch selection, I don't see how they can really but then i don't think there should be a poitn deduction anyway for a late pitch, we brought the pitch selection forward a day so what's the problem it doesn't delay the game it just means that a home captain might not get their prefered pitch type.

Incorrect.

Grayza chose a random pitch. It can be done.

WCW should lose a point. Why have rules written clearly and stickied if they aren't going to be enforced?

Where has it ever said that a captain can choose a random pitch?

Where does It say that you can't??

Since they brought in captais choosing pitch types we were told we had 3 options, nobody ever metnioned that we could choose a random deck.

I don't care if people do but it was said that if you don't select a pitch then it goes to random in their game with us grayza said he wouldn't select the pitch so that it would go to random, i don't have a problem with this but if eddie is trying to bust people for being late on pitch selection then he needs to clear this one up.

I'm all for docking points for late team selection but the late pitch doesn't hurt anyone, the home captain loses the one thing he has control over, I don't see the point in a deduction.

i never said i wouldnt select a pitch....i selected a random pitch....no two ways about it....Ed had no worries with it, i asked him if he had a problem with it, he was cool with it

i dont remember once saying i was purposefully not picking a pitch just so it would go to random

I think the rules may need looking at.

The home teams pitch choice is a advantage but the away team can pick an appropriate line up once chosen.

If a pitch isn't chosen then the match becomes a lottery.

The correct decision IMHO, is that once the deadline has passed the away team should be offered the opportunity of selecting the pitch.

In fact, I'd go a bit further and suggest that the side that doesn't post the pitch loses ground advantage and the game is played on the away sides home pitch.

Anyhow, that's my thoughts and hopefully will stimulate suggestions.

I actually agree to an extent, The game should still be played at the same ground yet if a captain does not state what pitch they want, random being included in the time period supplied the opposition captain should have the chance to select the pitch

Agree 100% with this. Suggesting that Dipper is just whining or the old chestnut "Where's it say you can?" "But where's it say you can't?" is just stupid. I'm not a captain so i don't know what was said to them about the pitch selection, but here you go

Since they brought in captais choosing pitch types we were told we had 3 options, nobody ever metnioned that we could choose a random deck.
Who here has gone through the rules and read them in detail. Give jod a break
