Hi. I see aussie rules is played on cricket grounds. How do they mannage not to mess up the pitches ?

I think these days the pitches are extracted so as not to risk injury to the players because of the surface being too hard. Other than that I think the curators let the grass grow over them and bring the pitches up to standard again after the football season.
