So stats after the first six rounds:
  • Bayley Fritsch (12)
  • Kysaiah Pickett (11)
  • Tom McDonald (9)
  • Christian Petracca (8)
  • Ed Langdon (6)
  • Alex Neal-Bullen (5)
  • Max Gawn (4)
  • Jake Melksham (4)
  • Luke Jackson (4)
  • Charlie Spargo (3)

Talking points:
  • Fristch has missed a game, so if these stats are correct, has kicked 12 goals from 5 games. How many will he finish with?
  • Will B Brown and Weideman get back in? If so, when? Are they a genuine chance at clinching the goal-kicking award even after missing six rounds?
  • How many players will end up with 20+ goals? In 2020, our leaders were Fristsch (22), Weideman (19), and then Petracca and Melksham (15) - admittedly in a shorter season.

Thoughts?

I'm going to go with Slick, I think once Brown/Weid comes back in Slick will be the one that benefits the most from it, going to go out on a limb here and say he kicks a big bag of about 8 goals at some stage during the season.

Gee, hard to go past Fritsch at this stage.
Calculating goals per game average so far, and presuming each player plays the remainder of the H&A games, we'd have the following as the top 5:

1. Fritsch (63)
2. Pickett (44)
3. B Brown (32)
4. McDonald (26)
5. Petracca (25)

Expect Fritsch and Pickett to drop off a bit, and Brown to pick up some ground.

Gotta be Fritta, BB will start to kick some more goals but he'll also allow Fritta to get free a bit and slot more himself.

Trac being a genuine goal a game midfielder (as opposed to only playing partly in the middle) is one of the most critical things here for mine. Would like to see Oliver kick more goals. Sparrow and Jordon both have the capacity to kick a few more as well - Jordon from range and Sparrow as a leading/deep forward
