Danger's not my worry when it comes to Constable, it's Scooter that I'm looking at. Already back and playing VFL this week. Will probably play 1 week more there just to get his conditioning up and then brought back in Round 3. He looked really good during JLT and was a huge surprise to me. 69 from 69% game time in JLT 2 and somewhere in the 60's for JLT 1. Gives us the freedom to rotate Menegola forward, along with Ablett and Danger, if he performs. With that said, I think he's less likely to stay in the side even if he debuts, and therefore I'd be spending the extra 28K and going with Fogarty who I reckon will get a spot in the forward line if he performs well.
Bugger. But cheers

It was about this time that I kicked myself that I didn't back in Simpson. Jesus what a first quarter

Also happy that I backed my instinct and pulled Weitering about 20 minutes before the bounce. -1 after the first quarter, he's going backwards

Have they changed the rules so we are no longer able to benefit from the captains loophole on Thursday night games? Have Simpson as vc and Mitchell as c but the app won’t let me change the c to another player as Mitchell seems to be locked in already?

Anyone else having this issue?
Could just be the app considering it's a useless piece of shit

Now that Coffield isn't playing, who are the best cheap options for defenders?

So far I've got Yeo, Luke McDonald, Angus Brayshaw, Coffield, Andrew McGrath, Murray (bench: Doedee, Finlayson)

Atm I'm considering Naughton or Pearce, but they will get very low scores since they are kpd's. Lachlan Murphy is playing for the Crows, but not so sure about his job security and scoring potential...? Any other options?

If Barry's game time is a concern, who should we be looking at for the 2nd Mid bench spot.

Currently have Brayshaw, Kelly, Banfield on the field and Holman and Barry on the bench.

Cheers

If you have the cash and Fogarty is named, he should be your next consideration. Massive numbers during his under 18's and should lock down a spot as a half forward/small forward if he makes it in. Captain loves him

Interesting. Given Fogarty has been confirmed to play now, wouldn't he also be a candidate to be replaced by Cockatoo in the next week or two?

JS an issue though?
Not if he performs. You know you're doing pretty well when Joel Selwood comes out after one pre-season and JLT and says 'I love him' Even with Gregson (named), McCarthy and Cockatoo returning over the weeks, I think there's still a spot for him on the bench. Should squeeze in

Best 22

B: Bews Taylor Kolodjashnij
HB: Tuohy Henderson Stewart
C: C Guthrie J Selwood M Duncan
FO: Smith Ablett S Selwood
HF: McCarthy Hawkins Menegola
F: Cockatoo Menzel Dangerfield
INT: Kelly Fogarty Blicavs Parfitt

I think it'll be Gregson who'll be pushed out to be honest. If he has a so-so game and Fogarty has a blinder, then I can't see him keeping his spot. JS could come into the equation when McCarthy returns, but who knows if he ever will, so at this point he looks the safest of the remaining rooks. Constable is no chance with our stacked midfield. If he could play forward, maybe, but he's a pure inside mid.

I'd think Gregson would be more likely to be replaced by Cockatoo, given that he's never been a real superstar, more just a fringe player. If Fogarty has a blinder in Round 1, he'll keep his spot and Gregson 'll go out for Cocky. He's only been named on the extended interchange at the moment, so we don't know whether he'll actually play yet. I think he should, but not sure

Thanks for that. I guess the premium you pay for Fogarty has him ruled out for me and the fact your mids are already so stacked. I think Melbourne will be tough opposition for you blokes first up so can see some sub par scores for some of the lesser known players/rooks.

On another note, in light of Viney missing 2 months do people think Trac is guaranteed even more mid minutes now which in turn almost solidifies Fritsch's forward spot in the team? I'm have had Devon Smith all pre season as I can't see him playing forward much but with the news of Viney I'm tempted to slot Trac in his place and save the coin considering that they both may not become top 6 in their positions

Nah I definitely get that. I just can't think of anyone else who could slot into that extra spot who could actually rack up decent scores. I mean he averaged something like 110+ during his senior year. Kid can seriously play

I'd be keeping Trac and Smith. I think they both actually could end up as top 6, along with Billings, Heeney, McLean and (from what I saw last night) Charlie Curnow

I think the cats really rate Gregson, especially with McCarthy sidelined.

Also...
