Playing North Melbourne is a Prelim is basically a death sentence, and as a side you may as well just give up.

This year Syd had to play North in the Prelim, won that game by 71pts then the following week lost the GF by 63pts.

In 2007 Port were the unlucky ones to play North in the Prelim. Port beat North by 87pts, to then loose the GF by a whopping 119pts.

In 2000 Melbourne faced North in the Prelim. Melb beat North by 50pts to then loose the GF by 60pts.

In 1997 St Kilda beat North in the Prelim by 31pts, to then loose the GF by the same margin.

In 1994 Geelong beat North in the Prelim to go on and loose the GF.

Only Carlton in 1995 have beaten North in a prelim and then won the GF. So if your team is unlucky enough to play North in the Prelim, they may as well pack up and not bother cause the odds are they won't win the GF if you manage to beat North in the Prelim. North have been shattering supporters dreams for 20years now... Its up to the semi finalists to ensure this team doesn't continue to cause havoc and eliminate them early in the finals!
