With a winning VFL team stacked with AFL experienced players (largely young) there is no excuse not to be playing them now. None.
People can pump up Adelaide all they want, but we saw a mid tier team yesterday dismantle a bottom 6 side by 11 goals - effectively in one half of football.
On the field, the buck stops with the senior players - as it always has and as it should. To see posters pot younger guys barely having played 30 games and then bend over backwards defending poor performing, largely untalented senior guys is beyond mind boggling.
I seriously can't work out what's harder to accept - our results or watching barely VFL capable senior guys getting rewarded with AFL games week after week.
It sends a terrible - culture damaging - message to our younger guys: get into a groove of mediocrity son and you'll still get a game and a real estate portfolio to go with it at this Club.
In what NMFC universe is it okay for a gold minted Club legend like Cunners to be playing seconds but others seemingly spared the humiliation? Seriously, WTF!
It's not as though "playing the kids" will result in us losing games. Guess what? We're killing it on that metric and I'd rather have lost by 90 points yesterday without those senior guys.
Reward effort and energy not birth certificates.
If we don't have at least 4 unforced changes next week then we've learnt nothing.

Shiels has served his purpose but it’s time for him to go show that leadership in the vfl and transition into recruiting next year
