ok heres a question do you think that supporters that abuse players should be banned from the ground for at least one or two matches
take the incident at the eagles saints game when an eagles supporter pushed barry hall personally i think he was lucky to come out of that with no bruises apparently hall is a black belt in karatee
so wat does everyone think

No supporter should be banned from the game from abusing players. It happens everywhere. I don't like to see a supporter putting their hands on players as that supporter did. But when you come to think of it he didn't like what Hall did and neither did I.As there are quite a few bullies playing footy there the ones that should be rubbed out for good.

What about that moron who abused Mitchell White as he was carried off on the stretcher? Yelling and throwing things at a player just coming to is not good enough. He was ejected, and I think that's what he deserved.

In both instances the supporters were ejected from the game. I believe that was right but to ban them from other games, that's what I don't want to see.

Supporters should not be thrown out or banned for verbally abusing players.
Most times the players don't hear it & also they're big boys & professionals, so should be able to handle it.
Physical abuse is different, NO supporter should EVER physically abuse a player for what happens on the ground, if they do they should be thrown out, but I can't see how you could stop them going to other games.

I just think it's sad people can't regulate their own behaviour to an acceptable level. Giving a player a bit of stick for a crappy performance is fair enough but the unwarranted crap sometimes goes too far.. the mitchell white incident is a good one... the guys on a stretcher barely concious and still drunken moron fans give the guy a hard time... I follow afl for a variety of reasons... one is because I believed the mentallity of the avg afl fan to be well above that of the caveman style league supporters.

I remember Alistair Lynch on one of his bad days playin at the gabba the guy was worKing his ass off and at one stage he was on his knees in the goal square after having gone for a mark and general play had moved on.. he remained down and looked liKe he was about to pass out and all you could hear was $h|t liKe "want a pillow sleepy" "what's a matter need a bit of a nap".. I'd liKe to see any of the loud mouthed arseholes try to perform the acts he does in footy with such a debilitating illness.. amazing when Richie Richardson was suffering CFS and was boarded out of the WI cricket team how understanding the cricket world could be... maybe my initial judgement of a large cross section of afl supporters was wrong.
