This would never had happened had you been paying attention to the punctuatory lessons this forum offers.

My preference is to play - Daniher and Gumbleton together - Hurley back with Carlisle - and Pears out of the side.

RE: Gumbleton, I don't think he'll be best 22.

You've got to weigh up Gumbleton vs Pears/Fletcher in who can offer more to the side.

In my opinion, Pears/Fletcher do, with Hurls and Joe up front.

That said, I hope we keep Gumby for depth.

Disagree strongly. Hurls, Carlisle and Hooker would be the ultimate trio in defence. Gumby is a far better forward than Hurley and Hurley a better defender than Pears. It's that simple

Am I missing something with this whole Gumby for Pick 33 thing? Wasn't it going to be Gumby for Mellington? Or did that fall through?

With Belchambers or Ryder in the same forwardline?
No thanks it's times up for gumby me thinks

Can we please all remember how our VFL forward line of Gumby, Joe, Dell'Olio and a resting ruck actually functioned, unlike our AFL one?

If we play a forward line of Gumby, Daniher and Bellchambers/Ryder we'd be too immobile up front. We can't have the 203cm Daniher being easily the most mobile key forward for over half the game.

Our forward line is dysfunctional enough before taking Hurley outta there. Carlisle OR Hurley need to play forward. Daniher isn't ready to be a consistent KPP and Gumby hasn't shown enough consistency.

As much as i'd like to get something for Gumby, with Cram gone our forward depth would be non-existent. People have suggested playing Hardy forward. Not sure thats really the move of a finals side. We may begrudgingly have to keep Gumby for lack of options. Remembering also that Hurley is made of Cruskits and prob wont play a full season.

Remember Howlett struggling to get a touch then going back to VFL and getting 40+ then coming back in and struggling to get a touch again. Its so foreign and the pace is that different they may as well be playing a different sport.

Carlisle will play forward and Hurley will play back next year - BOOK MARK IT

You cant have a injury prone forwardline with lick, chappy, hurley with a second year bean stalk and a rest ruckman. We will need some stability up forward with a proper KPF

hang on, does his tearing out of ff and sticking the dukes out against the pies not count?

That stat can't be true

Not many people would agree with me but adding vince could work wonders for us. He is a very skillful player that would only help with our forward 50 entries. To many times we missed the target going forward. I reckon crammers out and vince in would atleast be a break even if not slightly a win for us. Then you add chappy and we have gained overall.

Also can anyone give us an idea about mellington from freo is he big or small could he be a handy pick up for us. Still young..

He's a big bodied 185cm small-medium forward. Definitely would be a handy pick up as he attacks the ball relentlessly, is very smart around goal (as well as being a good kick for goal), is good on the lead and is good overhead.

Might as well stop talking about it because it's never going to happen. Getting too old, best form was a long time ago, doesn't fill a need, seems a bit of a lad. If we hand over a 2nd rounder or a player who isn't Jetta for Vince i'll hand in my BF membership (not out of disgust, just shame).

Howlett played injured for the second half of the year.

some people here on the good drugs. Gumby is not best 22. there's no future here for him, if Freo will give us pick 33, we should take it.
Agreed, but for anything less i don't think it's worth. RE: lack of forward backup with Crameri's departure

I'm not sure how you can say pick 33 (which will fall closer to 40 after compensations are done) in a weak draft where talent falls away after pick 25 is somehow worth what Gumby could offer.

Both are somewhat speculative but Gumby has far more of a chance to turn it round in 2014 than some kid around pick 40.

Agreed with this. We must get rid of either Pears or Gumbleton from our list, and I'd much rather keep Pears. There's simply no spot for Gumby
