Let's be frank here - Dave hasn't played defence since early 2011. When Dempsey went down this year, Goddard and Heppell moved back instead of Myersy - he's a midfielder and anyone who talks about defence like those premium quality douchebags Ralph and Wallace is simply displaying their ignorance. There's clearly interest from the Dees, but his motives (or maybe his manager's) are about a bigger slice of the pie.

Not matter how you do trade period week whatever, there is always going to be a deadline, and funnily enough more trades will get done close to the deadline than not.

There is no point getting worked up about it..

Keep your hats on people, even on the off chance that we do pick him up, Dal aint at his peak anymore and even back then he alone is not going to be the difference between a side that is top 6 material to a flag in the space of 6 months.

I can understand shopping Jetta around but Myers has only just had his first injury free season and I think he only gets better from here on in. I really hope we don't end up doing a trade that is effectively Myers for Dal Santo.

Not really. We would have to give up a player of quality to get in Adams, which I doubt we would be prepared to do. As for clubs wanting our players, I don't think the infraction notice cloud is turning them off. Look at Crameri to Dogs, Bellchambers's interest when he was unsigned, Myers interest while he is contracted, Colyer and Jetta interest. I don't think that the ASADA crap is taking much affect regarding the trading, other than our lack of picks to trade with.

It's the lack of early draft picks that prevent us going for those players, we have nothing really of value to trade unless we give up best 22 players.

That discussion between Wallace and Barrett was misleading. They forgot to mention that we have no draft picks in the first two rounds which makes life tricky. There has been more than enough interest but we don't have players to trade out or draft picks. The ongoing ASADA investigation has had no impact on EFC during the trading season.

I as much as the next guy want dal but it's all just a big media beat up, every year we are linked to someone big and it just happened last year we finally landed one, remember all the years previous we were linked to David mundy?
I'm getting kind of tired of how the media keep linking people to clubs and it never happens with no facts to back it up, remember two days ago Leigh montanga was a essendon player? Or how Paul chapman was a shue in for Richmond? What about the time Paul Roos was coaching Brisbane and then he was at west coast? At least half the media journos are hacks who make up fake sources to try and make the back page of a paper, the only time someone ever remotely gets close to some "breaking news" is after the afl has had a deal lodged to them by a club or already tipped of the people involved. Has there been any journo who has actually broken trade/free agency related story this year? Nup zilch, bunch of hacks
