Exactly the reason I want Marsh! The guy is a jet, will be hilarious to see the looks of disappointment on the faces of defenders when he gets the ball and belts towards goal leaving them in his dust.

Yep, really want him at 26! He needs to be our pick 26!

No decent forwards? Marsh suits us perfectly for one.

I'm not necessarily saying a KPP, I'm saying that a roaming 3rd tall such as Marsh is what we need. And if Conlon is available with pick 55 or or the rookie draft then I want him too. It just seems silly that we would avoid getting the players we need to plug holes just because this is a midfielders draft.
Its not plausible to say we'll be contenders within the next 2-3 years if we don't fill the holes NOW.

Marsh is your 3rd tall/eventually wingman sort of player. Actually think eventually he'll be a goalkicking midfielder (tall). He is PERFECT for our side. Conlon I am sceptical of- mainly becuase every time I read about it the more I am thinking Beau Dowler!

Ben Cavarra?

Not a tall forward but a hard inside midfielder who seems to be ready built. Has done everything one possibly could in the TAC cup but still doesn't seem highly rated.
If he's taken I reckon it'll be in the rookie draft. AFL site has him listed as a "Smokey" on the Draft Machine. I think the issue is clubs seem to like taller mids these days and Cavarra really is quite small.

I don't understand how and why Carlton would not take McCarthy but who cares, the longer they have no tall forward the better. I hope Waite goes down with a career ending injury in round 1 and they are stuffed. Sure, McCarthy is still a raw talent and probably won't be ready to dominate yet, but he would be better than Casboult...

I really want Crouch. I hope Adelaide don't take him, but I think they will with the Brad Crouch ties and all.

Also EQ didn't have Hartung in that 20 either. If he slide to us I'd be stoked.

Honestly there are better KPF's next year, who will be more ready so to speak. I sort of understand where they are coming from this year. Boyd aside there is very few AFL ready KPF's, and very few that will make it (true KPF's). I wouldn't be spending a first rounder on a KPF just because they are a KPF unless it was Boyd.

Could do worse at 55, but yes likely to be in the rookie draft, hasn't got elite disposal so it is those factors.

Yeah Conlon is admittedly one of those risky but high reward types. Gotta remember though he was being touted as an early first rounder before injury hit.

Yes so was Dowler. Really depends on 26, I would go Conlon IF we grab a Marsh type at 26. If not, I would prefer us to grab a mid or a small forward rather than a lottery selection. That said F we have done due diligence on Conlon and we think his body won't snap, I'll back the club!

Yeah I think the club are looking at going the 3rd tall and ruck/KPF combo in the National Draft anyway. So (for mine) it'll either end up being Marsh 26 and Nankervis/Conlon/Brown at 55 or Lobb/Apeness at 26 and Reynolds at 55. Personally I'd prefer the first option.

Watching Conlon's footage earlier made the nether regions very excited (major homo). That leap and innate marking ability show the ingredients of a top 5 talent. Pick 55 would be a small price to pay ...

Hoping Emma Quale is right and Lobb is taken- would be my worst nightmare! Good ruck don't get me wrong, but just no! Please Marsh, will not be happy if we take Apeness who is just too early. I would actually go Marsh at 26 and Apeness/Conlon (OR any other KP) player at 55. More leaning that way. That said Marsh and Heavyside at 55 I would be happy.

Yes...if he is fit. Key word is IF. I'll back the club on this one.

Judging players on YouTube clips is ridiculous, but based on that he's the second best key forward available. Regardless of injury history, pick 55 is small change for that kind of talent.

Not when we only have TWO picks, three if you include Dalgleish. I want two good selections. Hopefully Marsh is one. Not fussed on the other one. If they go Conlon I'll back the club, but I am far from convinced. I would rather gamble that Apeness would be on the table at 55.

I have no issues with us taking a ruck at pick 26. As rucks take time to develop and need to be on a list for a few years before a call can be made on them, I would rather that we are spending the time on someone with potential.

Further to this, we have mids coming through that are highish picks - Merrett, Kavanah, Colyer, Hams + the ones we have already picked up this year. Our ruck/forward development is rather bare.

Now, before some (one) of you get all uptight with the 'we must ONLY get midfielders rant' I'm saying if a ruck is the best available we go for it. We shouldn't rule it out, just because of the position they play. Personally, I'm still hoping (read dreaming) that Crouch may slip down to us.
My issue with it is that the quality of rucks available at 26 vs the quality available at 55 will not be very different whereas the quality of the smaller players will decline significantly. So we would maximise the improvement of our list by getting a smaller player at 26 even if it means we pass on a decent ruck like Lobb.

Marsh fills the hole left by Crameri (3rd tall who once his tank builds up can rotate through the midfield). I reckon Conlon fills the other KPF void nicely as well.
Marsh fills the hole left by Crameri after about 4 years in the gym. Right now only a mature age recruit could fill the hole left by Crameri.

They might have their eye on someone from the VFL, although they'd better hope they nail their KPF selection next year because if a few of them don't make the grade they're in for a lot of pain. They might go for Conlon a bit earlier than other clubs are prepared to if they don't get a tall with their first round pick.
Patience is needed - Next year is supposed to be a talls draft - With astute recruiting should nab one in 2014.
It wouldn't hurt to get one late in this draft. You never know what might happen in the future and we know that there is a hole in the list so we should look to fill it ASAP.

I'm not a Crameri basher in the slighest and I wouldn't be at all surprised if a kid could come and at least get close to Stew's stats instantly. Stew was always more promise than delivery.

There is a chance that a good ruck will slip through to 55, also a chance they won't. The drop off in quality of midfielders you mentioned is the same reason that other clubs may take all the taller players before we get to pick 55.

If we take Marsh at #26 ill cry. Yer he is fast. He is not worth 26! Templeton should be our guy. Him or Dumont. Then address our needs of a tall at #55 besides from Boyd and McCartney, it is a lucky dip for talls after that.

He is fast and he has good skills and can kick a goal. Would love Marsh at 26!

Hope you are wrong, he is the one player I want at 26 or 55.
#55 I'd take him. Not at #26. He is a big footy blow up star because he tested so well. Athlete not a footballer. I'm more then happy to have him. Actually have him as guys I want at #55. Not at #26

Has a good name as well. In all seriousness if the club has completely cleared his knee then I don't mind the trigger being pulled at 26. Someone mentioned they doubt he will go much past 25 but who really knows. Some teams are desperate for KPP's (eg Carlton, Freo) so will probably put a decent bid in for the guy.
