Am I the only one who finds it absolutely baffling that we've accepted the need to swap good players for picks, yet the one with the highest currency and no spot in the team is the one who is deemed off limits?

Who?
TBC?
Ahhhhh, have you changed your tune? I always thought you were anti trade belch.scezza nailed it.
Is an essentially back-up ruckman our highest priority?

So what would you look for? I first round pick to pickup a young gun mid? I feel like a young inside mid is what we're after. Hence the Caddy Quest.
I agree with you, I also think that Gumbo deserves more time and can pinch hit with Ryder in the Ruck ie Q.Lynch L.Brown. Only gumbo would offer more up forward. No, I've always thought we need to trade him because there's no definite spot for him, and in two years he's a free agent. It's our last chance to get something for him.
We need to trade for picks IMO and use FA to improve the 2014 team. We can't afford to have a big gap in the list from the 1995 and 1996 classes - we had a 1981-83 gap and that destroyed us.
So would we be comfortable losing Hille and TBC in the same year? It would leave Ryder with Gumby and JD to be the back ups.
We all know when it comes list management, football clubs don't take risks like this. They play it conservative. So it's not that baffling. TBC needs to force the issue himself.Am I the only one who finds it absolutely baffling that we've accepted the need to swap good players for picks, yet the one with the highest currency and no spot in the team is the one who is deemed off limits?

If the bombers want the Dogs pick 4 then it would have to be for someone like Carlisle. The dogs would love to have him and i would be prepared to offer up pick 4 to get him across. Should he not face a ban that is.
If Fletcher retires and Pears leaves, Toovey would be a very handy get.http://www.afl.com.au/news/free-agents
rines suggested we might be targeting some "mid-level" free agents. Any thoughts on who they could be?
Michael Johnson would be worth a look IMO.
