Sylvia vs McMahon.

I realise they are in different positions, but I can swing Houlihan either way as the extra player. Sylvia has all the hype, McMahon plays in the most DT friendly team going around (well, besides the cats). Seems to be the go-to man, and should get a lot of the pill considering the zoning this year. Should average 85, exactly enough for keeper status in the backs.

Sylvia needs to up his average to 90 to be keeper material, and im somewhat doubtful he will get there.

Thoughts?

Sylvia without a doubt imo.

A real toughie here, Adcock vs Mundy

83 games in a row for Mundy! Into the leadership group (is he vice?) can only get better you'd think.

Adcock has potential, been much higher then he was last year, also into the leadershup group.

I would probably choose Sylvia. I only say this because I think Houlihan can become a decent 7th backmen and gain "keeper" status. However, if he was in the forwards, I would highly doubt he would be there at the end of the year. Only my opinion though :p

Seems like you have answered your own question.

I would go McMahon, probably the safer option of the two.

Go with your gut instinct....that is always the best.

Yeah im not quite buying into the Sylvia at the moment. He has the potential, but is injury prone and goes missing for large parts of games.

Is anyone else finding back keepers hard to find? Besides the obvious ones like Goddard and Cornes, everyone else has question marks. Enright/Fisher - possibly playing a more defensive role this year. Hodge/Carrots/Scotland/Wheatley/Embley have injury problems. Bowden has a role change, and even Bock/McPhee are prone to being thrown forward at the detriment to their DT game.

Anyone else having this sort of problem?

He is coming back from a pretty bad injury from memory. He hasnt looked all that quick so far. Id rate him a bit higher than Hasleby, but lower than Tuck/Masten.

Another postional choice:

Andy Otten vs Chris Yarran

I have Skipworth who can swap between mids/forwards, so its a choice between those two. Otten should play round 1, and I would expect a 55-60+ average. Not sure if he can keep his spot for enough rounds though.

Yarran should get a fair chance to play, so is a safer bet in that regard. Probably wont score as well though. Also has Garlett to deal with - same position and he is playing decently.

Thoguhts?

Hey guys,

Just like your quick thoughts on this one:

Option 1:

D. Swan, D. Cross, S. Hill

Option 2:

K. Cornes, J. Selwood, J. Grimes

Is it really worth going to the trouble of getting Grimes? Can I be confident in Hill getting early games?

I got a rookie comparison guys.

Yarran vs Sidebottom. (either will be starting)

Which one do you think will play more games and also score the most points?

Judging by last weeks performance i think Sidebottom might, however i am not quite sure.

Thoughts?

Personally I think Frontbutt will struggle to break into the Pies side (barring injury). Yarran fills an obvious weakness, and as such should play games. Hard to say for sure until the teams come out.

I just can't decide between 2 guns, Boomer Harvey and Pav.

Thoughts?

What is making the decision hard?

If you just want people to tell you who to pick, then you're getting a biased opinion.

How about asking questions like.

Boomer - Do you think he is getting on in age a little too much?
Pav - I'm worried about his potential move into the midfield, do you think this will affect his scores in a negative way?

At least you will get people answering your problems with each pick. If you think in your head they're even, then flip a coin and you will get roughly the same results as asking people online.

Maric+10k or McIntosh

I originally had McIntosh but his pre-season form hasn't really impressed me. Maric is also the number 1 ruckmen and won't fight for game time like McIntosh will.

Heath Shaw v Tarkyn Lockyer (one can't break a tag, but is yet the one I am leaning towards)

Embley v Carazzo in defence

Some help please!!!!!!!!

Carazzo is injured isn't he? So that should answer your question :thumbsu:

Now wat about Daisy V Adcock.

I no there different positions but i can swing houlihan either way.

grimes or mackay?

mackay is pretty much a certainty in the crows line up imo...im not sure about grimes in the demons line up

mackay is about 40k more expensive and i dont think will earm a huge a mount of money but grimes being cheaper can grow more

can someone tell me more about grimes??...role...is he in the demons 22 etc

I think Mackay could average 75 this year and as you said, he is pretty much a definite in the crow's 22 so I'd go with him.

Besides Deledio and Richardson who I already have, who do people think is the next best forward option? I am taking the risk with Richo because he is an absolute gun and deledio is safe.

Pavlich will fall in price soon because the midfield thing will have a negative impact on his scoring.

Didak looks the only real safe other option.

Gian just doesn't get the massive scores.

Franklin and Riewoldt have had an interrupted pre-season.

Chapman
Didak
Harvey

In that order for mine.

What about:

J Selwood + Skipworth + Ottens

OR

Ablett + Gumbleton + Ottens

OR

Cross + Skipworth + McIntosh

Harvey/Gia + Reilly

Having some midfield dilemmas:

Dal Santo v Judd v Sewell v Burgoyne

These would be great SC options but IMO for DT you have better options for that price range.

I would prefer Gibbs, Pendelbury, Montagna, Knights, Van berlo, Lewis then any of the options you listed above.

If your dead set on the above maybe Judd if he looks to be playing more outside. Not sold though. Dal Santo could prove a little of a smoky if his role has changed slightly, but i'll leave that for you to work out.

Don't just pick 1 of those guys because you have the cash to. Your best option may leave you with a little money in the bank or to upgrade elsewhere. Dont think you have to spend it.
