I love it how DWD can't even make a useful post without adding something to make himself look like an idiot. Makes life so much more entertaining!
Story of our lives, somethings never change, it makes it look like he is posting informative with an alteria motive. But then again its a hell of a lot better than RT's drool. So keep up the good work DWD but please get rid of your constant one liners at the end of your posts that are directed at your enemies such as modra, monkeyshine and adam10.

Their could quite easily be a negative effect if he plays midfield. Consider all dont be bias or disregard something like that.

It is a possibility, but this game is about playing odds.
Historically, the odds favour an improvement when moving to midfield.
Thinking about outside chances will only see you get stuck in Analysis Paralysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analysis_paralysis).

I wasn't saying you are wrong OK? I was trying showing you that your analysis was biased to what you have chosen to believe.

Read this page, you're doing it right now -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

A closed mind is a wonderful thing to lose :)

Yes he is very consistant player but he has a tough start which i have brang up in the other post. This could cause some price drop.
"some" drop is possible - yes I agree.

This shows his start and due to the rolling average/magic number he could lose some substantial money if he can only average 94/95 in his first 6 games.
Harvey is not immune from the magic number drop.

Go into further detail with your research this will help you more in the future. Not having a go out you at all. You responded with a detailed post but you have to look for more numbers otherwise the research can become bias or sample error can occur.
Oh thank you for your sage words kind sir

Cox and adcock vs Simmonds and mackie

what do ppl think about adcock?

I think Cox and adcock to better.

Simmonds is very inconsistant while if you dont get cox you might as well get Hmac because the rest of the ruckman are about the same. But cox is much better than anyother ruckman there is.

I think adcock and mackie will do about the same this year. (probably mackie gets a bit more) Adcock is great value with about 90k cheaper than mackie and will probably be a keeper (hopefully no injuries)

I know i should move on and remove the judgement, but mackie burnt me round one last year - stupid quad. Really makes you hate a player stuff like that!

Thompson, Haselby, Brennan vs Swan, Van Berlo, Hansen

Im not sold on having Haselby in the team, but there arent very many cheap forward options (already have Lucas and Higgins).

judd + kerr or gibbs + masten?

I have penciled 3 of those Judd/Kerr/Masten

Generally Judd hasn't been in the elite dt'ers, always consistant and can crack the odd 100-110, certainly isn't captain material. BUT I just have a feeling this year is going to his best dt year. Better suited to SC....80% chance of being in my final team.

Kerr is great value IF he can get some of his form back and hold that temper, 40/60 chance for me. Leaning more towards a Pearce/Boak type tho.

Masten semi smokie this one, think he will take that extra step this year, I predict this kid will become one of the elites in future years. Little more expensive than I was hoping for. The heat will be on Priddis/Kerr leaving masten free. 60/40 i will go with him.

Gibbs has too many to compete with at the blues, Judd/Stevens/Murphy/Scotland/Carrazzo, which one do you go with, can't have them all.

hmm...ok. So which one is the better option?

Well i am leaning towards both Judd/Masten at the moment. I am a bit nervous with Kerr and certainly wouldnt take all 3.

elite/elite/Judd/Masten/Hasleby/rookie, my thoughts.

God too many weeks to keep changing ones mind.

Hmm, I like it. I have Ablett, Selwood, Haselby and Rich at the moment. Makes sense. Cheers.

Does anyone think Wells will step up this year? I mean he has the potential to average 100pts a week its just will he deliver and also stay injury free. Im thinking Harvey will spend more time up the ground and although they play different roles Wells may benefit with a few extra ppg? Im thinking he could be a keeper this year.. thoughts?

yes, has the potential... but nooo way, too injury prone.

Speaking of Harvey, im stuck with a decision:

Harvey or Franklin? What to you guys think? Harvey slightly cheaper but SUPER consistent but never scores massive. Franklin on the other hand, the exact opposite, not as consistent but can pull out 130's and 140's

Harvey has slow starts to the season, but generally is ok for consistency. Also very durable, though is ageing.

Franklin has a high standard deviation, and has had a restricted preseason.

Thats my two cents in 20 seconds...

He avg 92 over the first 12 rounds of last season, although he did come home a lot stronger...

One of my other posts may be interest to you:

BRENT HARVEY

Year, round best to buy (based on averages, not price – yes lacks some credibility), average during opening, year average, closing average (after best round to buy based on averages).

2008, Round 09, 89.99, 94.6, 97.92
2007, Round 10, 84.30, 95.9, 105.58
2006, Round 12, 82.91, 92.6, 104.40
2005, Round 09, 81.67, 85.7, 88.62
2004#
2003, Round 04, 70.00, 86.8, 90.76
2002, Round 10, 80.60, 85.2, 89.80
2001, Round 12*, 79.5, 89.0, 98.50

AVERAGE:
Round 9.43, 81.28, 89.97, 96.51

# NA as he only averaged 68.6 for the year
* NOTE: Harvey missed 2 matches of the first 12

Looks to be a good one to pick up round 10ish (based on averages). Seems to always have a slowish start, and his closing averages for the last 3 years have been very very good. Whilst yes he is ageing and may not be able to produce that again, he could be a good upgrade target.

Just something of interest.

Skipworth or Masten?

Skipworth showed on Friday that he can score, as did Masten last week. Skipwroth is $110k cheaper though which is making me lean towards him, although I could just get him in the forwards. Any thoughts?

Skipworth is a tough one to judge. At the moment, I don't see how he will fit in the 22, but Knights will find a way imo. If you are really keen on Skippy, get him in the forward line.
