Where do you rathe these 3 on our list? I would say 15 plus

Douglas is top-10. Probaby in our top-3 in the Club Champion award right now.

Mackay & Henderson are firmly in the 22 - and we're not talking positions 21 & 22 either. Not top-10, but not in the same postcode as being a "fringe" player.

Mackay played 23 of 25 games last year and I can't remember him missing a game not due to injury since 2009. There is not a shred of evidence to support the suggestion that he is a "fringe" player. Best 22 every single day of the week.

Henderson's record isn't quite as good. He did spend a few games in the SANFL last year, but was on the emergency list for 3 of those 4 games. Most of the games he missed last year though were due to an ankle injury. So far this year he's been quite good and would be in the running for our "most improved" award, if such a thing existed at AFL level.

We do alright, though we will always be playing catch up until we have our own reserves team. Its an utterly inefficient model we are using, farming our developing players out to myriad SANFL teams where they are played out of position or under different coaching philosophies. Astonishing that the club hasn't resolved the situation over two decades. Yet despite that we're still pretty decent at development. However to get to geelong or collingwood levels of player development we will need our own reserves team. Pretty obvious

Unfortunately the club has always had to contend with the interests of the SANFL, they do own us after all.

Our drafting and our development has been good. I'm critical of our club when I feel I need to, some would say too hard. But I am happy with our list talent wise. I see the young players like Laird, Crouch, Kerridge, Lyons, Aiden Reily, Talia, Sloane who are all progressing well. Our issue is the older more experienced players who are low on form.

Lynch might have looked lost so far here in his stint at Adelaide, but at least he's been visible!
