Apologies for the intrusion.
Would you guys ever entertain a trade with us for pick 7 for Chad Wingard?
Lol hell no. Would you swap our first for bontempelli?

Some interest in Peppers.
Imagine he caught the eye of a few teams.

I remember reading at some stage last year his per a minute clearance rate was second only to Patrick Cripps.

Next year we should get him even more midfield time

Come on man, his only in his second season and he has already shown some attributes you don’t see from most players until their 5th or 6th seasons.
The club hasn't shown they can develop players. Wines and Wingard aren't much better now than in their first 2 years, arguably worse. He needs too much work, we would be smart to cut our losses.

edit: also we have good replacements with Atley and Drew.

If we trade him though, we would probably be trading for picks, which we would have to develop as well.

You’re suggesting that he’s the next Rhys Palmer. I really hope you’re wrong but next season will be crucial.

My only untouchables would be SPP, Marshall, Wines, Clurey, Wingard, Dixon, Farrell, Howard, Jonas and possibly Houston/DBJ.
Every player has a price. Pick 1 for Wines? I’d hope we do it to secure Lukocious. Wines’ sister might be happier too.

It’s interesting that a few posts up someone is saying the club can’t develop players, when the last four players on your list include 2 rookie selections and 2 post pick 50 selections.

I remember Zakk Wylde saying a few players that have played this season will be traded back to Vic etc. I think one is Amon and obviously Polec. A list rejuvenation would be nice.

When we went through our purple patch in the middle of the season, SPP was just about one of our best players. At one point he had something like a 10-1 win/loss record IIRC? Obvious issues with kicking efficiency and taking on players are obvious, but definitely a player who is more of a victim of our bad coaching and development systems (for example, our shithouse midfield) than a core issue.

If people want a hard rebuild with a look to the future, SPP is someone who should be at the centre of it. Potential payoff is way bigger than whatever we'd get now.
